but where is a site with a tutorial on FET modding an original ZipZap? I've searched and searched (here and other boards and search engines) and it seems everyone wants to talk about the SE or ZZMT FETs. 
I've got 16 IRLML2502 and 10 IRLML6401 on the way to go with my tinyRC V-Spec II motor and 150mAh lipos, so I've got a week or so before I can start. That doesn't mean I can't memorize the instructions between now and then!!!
