BTW: you are from Barbados... Is there wind in barbados? I mean really hard winds, making it possible to do some real wind/kitesurfing there? And how are the waves?

Ok I REALLY don't get why you fucking 16 yearold gayporn whanking mofu's have to pick on a guy who just comes along and joins the conversation. I am old enough to have a job and fuck your babysitter. I drive a VW beetle in reallife. The old one you know? I turned it into a fucking beachcruiser version know a lot about cars and mechanics and just want to have some fun with these cars. So just don't start dissing me.

Ok I don’t quite know what the hell that has to do with anything so what you drive in real life! We really don’t want to know that you dream of your former babysitter and yank of to a crumpled picture of her in the back of your VW that’s sitting in your yard up on blocks!

As you seem to have forgotten this is a Forum for RC cars and the discussions should be about RC cars not about “living in your basement beating off to the oldies”! Mr. Whiney baby you need to post something useful or get the hell out of Dodge and take your piece of shit VW with you and while your at it let the corpse out of the trunk and give it a decent burial your last babysitter is getting rank!

Back to the topic:

Originally I was thinking that it would be necessary for the coils to be balanced and equal in pull when you run a current through them. On second thought, that's not really necessary. As long as the remaining amount of coil can generate enough pull to swing the steering arm magnet over, it would work. Sounds like you already tried it and it was a no-go.

I think if you had simply broken the wire coming off the coil it could be repaired (done it a couple times myself), but running your knife through the coil sounds like more work than it's worth to try to fix it.

You could ask in "da hookup" if anyone has any junked chassis they're willing to part with for free or cheap. Usually if I've stripped everything useful out of a chassis, the steering coils are still in there.

are you serious? How about one of you guys? Do you have a spare coil for me?

BTW. I also have made a charcing pad which works via your USB connection of your computer (it gives 5 volts and up to 500 milliamps) Which is kinda risky, but it does load my dual fast as hell.

First, this should be in its own thread, with a detailed description and pictures, not shoehorned in here as a brag in a lame attempt to increase your ligitmacy.

Second, the USB standard requires that any device that requires more than 100mA register with the USB controller and request permission for high-power operation. You can cause problems for the controller if you draw > 100mA without first meeting this requirement.

Third, cool :-o , do a write up on it take some good pictures, and post it in its own thread.

breakyaface- You say you've purchased clones before? IMO, they're the best to mod. You can get them cheap and you don't feel as bad when you fuck them up. So stock up on them.

Secondly, how many broken chassis' do you have? If you've got a broken chassis(even a clone), you are more than capable of doing a complete coil transplant. just remember to mark where the wires come off the boards in the one that has the fucked coil. That way, you know where to solder the wires for the new coils.

Hope this helps a bit. and good luck!!
