I need LIPOS!!!!

Post by minibitguy »

Due to the short life of these batteries(merorywise), especially the cheap ones! Does anybody know where I could get some Lipos or really good quality nimhs.
Note this is for a bit charg.
Besides from extended the charge times what controller mods would be needed.

lipos are in a class of their own, if you use anything other than a proper lipo charger you'll burn your house down, no shit.

so do some serious schooling first:

:-o

i think namuna has a supply of 1/4 aaa nimh cells that are good, they'll be shorter than regular bcg cells but they'll fit.

this place has some cool cells and ships to aus:

What are doing to your batteries? The only batteries I've had die are cheap clone ones, ones that got shorted, and ones that I overcharged at some point. Otherwise I have Tomy cells that I have been using for literally years.

I'll also point out that proper storage is essential. Tomy cells are NiCd. NiCds like to be charge at the same rate every time and drained fully before storage to prevent cell memory. Zip Zaps and most clones use NiMH. NiMH should be cycled similarly, but shouldn't be drained completely. With NiMH you should discontinue use as soon as you see the car start to slow down, as they like to be stored with some voltage left in them, or else the may not take a charge again.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.

Yeah, ive heard a few horror stories about lipos being charged wrong, being bent etc.Wonder if that hurts more than super glue in eyes :?
My actual bit battery died ages ago(it lasted bout a year) and now I have to use a clone battery. I discharge it completly after each run but its still detiriorating. And i dont have an on/ off switch, I dont know why not cause ive got plenty of those little swithces  :???: :???:
