Stand alone charger questions
Hey, everyone. I made my self a stand alone charger because I was bored and I had an extra controller. So it uses 4 AAA bat's. I was wondering I I could hook up a DC? or which ever charger that plugs into the wall to charger it. I have a wall charger that outputs 4.8 volts and then 180 mA. Is that good? would I jsut be able to hook up the wires to the pos. and neg. side of the battery plates?
Here are some pictures of it.
And those blue batteries seem to not work. They are Ni-Cd 350 MAh 1.2v
They ar from my AEP airsoft gun

You've probably already checked but just to start with the obvious...make sure the polarity (+ and - ) are right. If they're backwards it'll just roach the batteries. I cant think of anthing else to check before that (other than that the wall charger is working)

There's a circuit board in between the battery terminals and the charging tabs for the car. If the power coming into it is different than it's expecting, sometimes it won't work. Here's what I would recommend:

and just substitute your controller for my Motorworks base, and it should work.
Take the controller apart and find where the battery power enters the circuit board. Solder some new wires to those locations and get a female jack (like a M or N at Radioshack), and add the corresponding male jack to the end of your adapter.
