Did I get a used Duratrax ICE?!?!?

Post by Namuna »

So I finally get my Duratrax ICE charger yesterday, hooray!

...But when I look at it, it seems a little roughed/scuffed up. Also, the left arrow button is more sucken-in than the right arrow button. :(

Here's a pic of it:

And click this link to see the full size with ALL the scruffy details:

Am I being anal here? I know the ICE has been around for a few years and maybe this one was just in LONNNNG storage and shuffled around in the box a few times? I bought this from Bishop Power (www.b-p-p.com) and they've got a solid reputation so I'm apt to give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't send me a used thing...But my gut says this thing's been around the block. :(

On all the aluminum labels and the glass screen, there's a thin film thats used for shipping protection...

It kinda looks like the film is still on it.. peel them off and it should look
like new.

Power Supply is a Pyramid PS-15KC, 13.8v @ 10A constant (up to 12A surge).

Yes, I know that in order to fully utilize all the options of the ICE I should be supplying it 15A...But the highest cap batts I'm sticking onto this thing right now is only 1100maH so I don't need the 9.9A output capability that the ICE is able to provide if 15A is supplied.

Hehe, not only is it good enough for the ICE...It's also good enough for my old Peak Charger too, AT THE SAME TIME!

I've got the old peak charger clamped to the Power Supply, and have the ICE Clamps piggy-backing off the other clamps.

Been charging batteries all day (1100mah batts, that is) without any problems. :-o
