The heat expands contracts the tar drastically, and it cracks everywhere, after a few years chunks are coming up. They then go over all the roads with a chip seal every couple years, to help combat that, and that just leaves tiny pepples everywhere, which I think are actually the most damaging to the car, and eliminate traction. It doesn't help that I live in a lower income area where parking lots are not kept up as well.sg219 wrote:@CD...I was thinking out your way, the parking lots would be much nicer. Because your not in the snow belt where snow plow trucks rip up the asphalt because the salt and ice warp it, and make giant potholes in the lots out here.

i dunno why rally stuff isn't more popular. i'm sure kids buy touring chassis' only to find their less than perfect road out front is too rough. this really limits them to track only and if it's your only car then you have to find a track to run on.
rally on the other hand, i can switch on in my bedroom and drive anywhere that's not too rough. fun anywhere!

I really could not agree with you more. I blame the media, like RC Car Action. Convincing the kiddies they need graphite and aluminum everything, when that stuff only gives you an advantage at the track, under ideal conditions. The problem with back yard bashing with that stuff is that it don't flex, so it'll snap before it absorbs shock. That's why I believe T-maxxes are hitting big with a more mainstrean audience, it's fast, easy to use out of the box, it'll go anywhere, and if you want the shiny stuff, there's plenty of that stuff out there for it too.
