I'm telling ya, Losi is seriously dropping the ball on the MLST. First the wheel hexes, then the diffs, now people electronics are going up in smoke, and Losi tries to make good, but they drop the ball there too.skylinekid wrote:Losi sucks They sent me parts, THE WRONG PARTS!!!!!! I got my batt pack back, but instead of a ESC i got another reciver
I was oo pissed and agravated to try to get Losi to send me the right stuff so I just spent (blew) $120 on a Mamba competion pack with the 6800 motor and some deans ultra connectors from www.b-p-p.com. I have them being shipped to my temporary home in Canada and my Truck in in Germany, and I'm in Hungary, going to Serbia tommorow. I'm also getting some random parts like dish wheels and some alloy sent to Canada for me so when I get there I can bot on some parts and have a REALLY fast Mini LST
I get back to Canada at the end of August so then I will have some pictures of the new setup.
I've never had a problem with the diffs, but they sent me three sets of diffs, before they finally sent me wheels and hexes, but they sent me 2 right side tires when I told them it was the rear wheels that were tweaked, so I still got one tweaked wheel, and bent to hell drive pins.
I swapped the thin wires out for 18 guage ones so my car wouldn't catch fire as others have, and now my ESC gets hella hot, I'm nervous for it.
I've already decided against getting too involved with this car.

I've decided that all RC's have their ups and downs, none are perfect. I've gone out and bought this Mini LST so now I want it to be the best Damn Mini LST it can be. I have alloy wheel hexes on the way, I have diff's that are 60% superglue, 40% Plastic, and A new ESC on the way. Im currently looking at dish wheels and some new tires. Im also trying to decide what I really need in alloy. If anyone has any recogmendations, they would be greatly appriciated. The only alloy I currently have are Wheel Hexes. Thanks

I guess I just expected more from the Losi name. My XXT and RC10DS of past were perfect. No issues, everything worked, and worked exceptionably well. My Stampede, it had issues. The shaft that the outdrives tighten around was too small, so it would strip often, even with the steel outdrives. The slipper pegs glazed over way too fast, and the slipper was difficult to adjust properly. The plastic motor mount would melt, distort, and shred spur gears when I took a hard knock and it was good and soft, allowing the motor to move around.
But then the Stampede was made overseas, and the MLST is made in China. That could have a lot to do with it. Regardless of the origin of manufacture I still expect a $200 toy to work correctly to begin with.
As for what I think the MLST needs. I want some of those aluminum wheel hexes. I'm interested in Driven Production's Delrin gear sets. They're gonna be selling the set with the pinion too. Apparently the geometry is off on the Losi pinion. Unfortunately a bunch of brushless whiners raised issue of the Delrin gears holding up to brushless, so now the release of those gears have been delayed until further testing. I would also like to get a MIP center ball diff, and center CVDs. Other than that, everything seems to work fine on my Losi, so I don't want to invest more than that. It's just that I see the potential in it, and want it to work properly, without having to worry about it, that's all.

Thanks for all the info Dave, Its great to hear some advice for a more expirianced person.
Im probably going to get better diff Gears when they come out. GPM is releaseing front/rear diffs in a special formula thing thats supposed to be better then delrin on August 1st for $11.90 each, so I will most likly invest in a set of them and a MIP center diff.

But are those GPM gears gonna include the pinion? According to the forum guys, the spacing on the Losi gears is not mathematically correct, and part of the problem.skylinekid wrote:Im probably going to get better diff Gears when they come out.
