Well Sg, I see you are in need of a polished screw set. I bought a stainless set from my LHS manufactured by R/C Screwz. You can buy it at www.rcscrewz.com/mini.htm It it the first row, column all the way to the right. The screws are super strong. Sop strond I thought I stripped my screws, when in all actuality, I stripped my wrenches! It come with EVERY (even that long one in the rear) screw you need for the car. I only had three problems with it:

1) The included motor screws don't fit with the Beast Raptor (no big deal, everybody I know has this problem). I bought screws form my hardware store.

2) The smallest (1mm) L-shaped allen stripps when too much force is applied.

3) I cannot seem to find the screw that goes through the A-Arm, then the shock shaft end, then back into the A-Arm. I am sure there is one, only I can't find one, so you may want to keep your stock ones just in case.

Try these screws for your motor. I plan on getting them for the Mamba I'm getting and hoping they work with it.

Thanks for the screw find, I might pick them up for my stock Mini-T, but the ones that came with the parts are pretty nice. I just have to find that long one somewhere.

But these are always there too.

These are the front axles I'll be pickin' up.

Thanks. I already bought the screws. They were 3mmx6mm. I just need 3mmx3mm so I dremeled them down. Don't hold me to this, but I think the mamba uses 2mmx3mm screws.

Thanks for the hookup on the Lunsford stuff, it will come in handy.

The GPM screw set is nice, but I have a feeling that the titanium will strip. The Stainless ones are amazing! Like I said before, they stripped my wrenches. You may also find this interesting:

Go to where it says the Vegas Stripper. It is a strength test of the screws.

Update - Srry to doubble post, but this is something urgent. I bolted in my Beast on Thursday Night with the larger 3mm screws. The screw heads are too large, and won't clear the stock gear cover.

SG, you may want to invest in the Lunsford Lexan Gear cover, and the Fat Boy Motor Screws in one package. My LHS sells this that way, so the Lunsford website should too. You can also paint the gearcover to match your body.

Picked the cover up about a month ago.

I'll order the screws when I order the Ti front axles.

I just couldn't keep it contained any longer. I was going to wait till it was totally finished.......but......fuck it.....

Keep in mind, all those blingy parts are hand polished and most of them de-anodized.

Hope you like it.

I still need....

Front axles
Middle gear
Aluminum body mounts
Mamba 6800 or 8000
JR XS3 TX
Servo (not sure on which one yet)
And a couple other small assorted parts. Nothing major.

I still have a few parts that need to be put on, but I have to do other things first. (example: install front axles to put wheels on kinda stuff)

Very Very VERY nice truck. I'm glad you showed it to us now, I couldn't wait to see it. I only have one suggestion. I read you wanted a JRXS3/XS3 Pro Tx. If you wanted to go all out, for total bling appeal, go with an Airtronics M8. Get the backlighted version (just the Tx, no reciever), and get the new DSM Spectrum from Horizon seen here:

That way, noone will ever be on your channel. It uses the same technology the 2.4ghz cordless phones do, it is the wave of the future.

Thanks for the props.

I still have alot of work ahead of me to get it finished. It's startin' to look like I won't be able to get it done till after X-mas now.

My 1:1 ride died and needs a fuel pump, rear brakes and drums, some goofy sensor, front tires, and an oil change and engine flush. Plus, my speedometer and odometer hasn't worked in over 1 1/2 years. I've only put on about 10,000 miles in the last 2 years, because the gauges will go on and off.

Right now I have an H2 body that I want to paint, but I keep on seeing a bunch of other cool bodies while I'm shopping for parts. So between now and the time I finish the chassis, I might end up with something different.

Um...Not really. Not until Li-poly's become as easy to use and TRUST as Nimh's.

Right now I want to use an 8-cell set-up.
