Racer's Lounge.
I wanted to create a thread where the electric offroad racers here can discuss setups, classes, rules, running gear and such.
First off, I race a Team Losi Mini-T at DR R/C http://www.downriverracing.com, but we just call it "The Hall". There is only one mini class, so wheather you are running 2wd or 4wd, brushed or brushless, you are in the same class. I would like to get descent pics of my truck, but it is in pieces because I am in the process of re-building it (something I doo after a couple of race nights).
My current setup is as follows:
Thunder Power 860mah 7.4v Li-po pack
Micromods 850mah 7.4v Li-po pack
De-Cased Losi electronics
iWaver LCD transmitter
Micromods 300 Carbine motor
R/C Screwz Stainless Hex screw conversion
Orion 12T pinion
Losi Dual Plate Slipper
Losi Oil Shocks
Losi Bearings
Trinity Monster On-Road Tires
Racer's Edge Universals
Suspension (F/R):
Camber 0deg./0deg.
Toe 1deg/stock mounts
It is not the fastest truck there, but definately handles better than most, except for the 4wds (RC18 mostly) which look like they are on rails. Because of this, I placed an order for a RC18 and Bullet 280 motor from last week. The motor arrived last thurday, but the truck is back ordered and should arrive in Mid. February. When I get confirmation that the truck has shipped, I am going to immediately order the following:
Factory Team (FT) Front and Rear Shock Bodies
FT or Hot Racing Titanium turnbuckle set
FT Carbide Diff Balls
MIP CVDs or Hot Racing Swing Shafts
Country Alloy Works Front and Rear Bumpers
Duratrax Intellipeak Digital or Great PLanes Electrifly Charger (depending on how muuch money I have)
Micromods GP1100mah 7.4v nimh pack
Later on, I plan on going brushless, but I want to wait for the Tekin system to be released.
*EDIT* I am sick of waiting for the RC18, I am ordering a TLT tomorrow. I will just put the rest of the money into my Mini-T.

Im not too sure how much it will cost, I hear roumers that it will retail for about hte same price as the mamba. From what I have read the mamba motors themselves aren't that great, but the ESC is outstanding. Instead of a Mamba 8000kv, I was thinking of just getting the ESC and getting a Hacker brushless motor.
All the "official" info is located here.
I was having second thoughts on the Rc18 for a while there, I wanted to get a T4, but the Mini class is a less competitive which = more wins for me.
