I ordered a Mini-LST from Ultimate Hobbies during their New Years Day Only sale.

$169 shipped. I got it on Jan. 11th.

This truck kicks ASS!!!

This is my first NEW RTR above 1:28th scale.

The Paint job on the body is a killer metallic green!!! (I had to ask for the green one.)

Here are some stock pics.

The batteries ready for abuse!!!!

The blue Losi Sport is the stock LST battery.

Image

I ran it stock for a whole 1 pack. :P

Time for some action.

I installed the Mamba 6800 and Mamba 25 ESC!!

Image

I had to put some velcro on some spots to reorganize everything.

I also had to cut off part of the battery hold down end, just one side, so that the Kokams and other batts can fit in good and tight. Plus there is velcro on all the batteries and the bottom of the battery area to hold in place.

New sticker layout.

I also put on some Dynamite GREEN metallic body clips. I had to trim the front one about 3/4" shorter to fit properly.

Very fun truck. I'll need new tires very shortly.

I also need to change the pinion again. I first put on a 10T Mini-T pinion on the Mamba with the stock spur, but thats geared WAY too low. I'm going to put the stock pinion on it instead.

The Mamba 6800 was a direct drop in. Easy to instll and set up. Just gotta screw it in and put on a pinion, then secure the switch somewhere.

Did the stock battery work? Some people were complaining that their stock batteries came DOA out of the box.

yup, mini-lst's are a blast. if you haven't already, check your wheel hexes. the first batch of mlst's shipped with hexes that were improperly molded (warped and distorted). call losi support and they will ship you a service bag with new hexes and diff gears.

So far the only problem I've had is the ball cups popping off at the servos. With almost no rough play. Just playing in the house. Then when I pop them back on, I'll test them and push some and they seem nice and tight. :-?

I will double check the hexs. Thanks :-o

Now your'e supposed to put mini t slicks all around and burn them up. It's the only logical thing to do.

This is what I've broken so far since I got the truck, the second week of January. Most of this has been broken from the last week of March, until today.

(Only a body post and a couple of stock rims, before Nats)

All stock, unless noted.

2 diff cases
1 upper arm
2 lower arms
2 rear carriers
1 stock front diff plate/pin holder
1 3 Racing front CF diff plate/pin holder
2 bent front hinge pins
2 body mounts
1 Hot Racing rear CVD
1 front bumper
10 bent to hell wheel pins
5 stock rims
1 front diff pinion
1 front diff spur

....and added today....

1 front diff case (total of 3 so far, all front)
1 3 Racing CF diff plate (yes, another)
2 bearings
1 body post
1 stock lexan body (finish it off, nail in the coffin)
3 wheel pins
1 front lower arm
1 Mamba 6800 (the shaft snapped!!)

you broke the shaft on that mamba? fuck me! that's nuts!

Go get yourself an AON4900 mate from www.aonelectric.com they're nuts, I have one in my half8, an excellent, high torque motor....

It was a clean snap about 2-3mm from the motor can. I sent it back to Castle Creations to let them check it out and hopefully replace it.

I was thinking of trying out a Tekin brushless. :???:

But I have heard good things about AON.

Cool video, that thing really rips.

I don't own a 1:28 scale rig, so I'm just shootin' the shit here....From the vid, it looks like you're holding off going full-bore on the throttle until you really want/need it. When you do, it seems like that sucker just screams.

I love the 3X instant replay of hitting that pole. Owww. Did that particular hit do any damage?

No damage on that pole hit. :-D

Since that vid, I got a Mamba USB link to adjust the motor and bought a 3cell Lipo!!

Its a small 4 wheeled missle now!!!

I need to replace some bearings now. Plus the center drive dogbones are almost fully worn away at the ends.

The added power of the 3rd cell and the adjustment of the motor, via the link, quickly turns this truck into a part hungry machine.

It's  and at the same time gets me a little  that I have to replace parts, but its so much :-D doing it.

So aprox. how much have you spent on this thing I have been thinking of getting something like this but the cash factor would play a big roll. I have a Micro RS4 that Ripper is working on and I know I will have to spend a ton on it. Will this be double? tripple or more? :???:

I bought it for $169.

About $50-75 USD in Team Losi Plastic.

The reality is that I beat the shit out of this truck!!

I'm running a finely tuned Mamba 6800 (until the motor shaft snapped, now a 4200, which sucks) and when I go out, I usually run several packs thru it, I make an afternoon of it. 3 Losi 1100 nimh, 2 Kokam 2s 1500 lipo, 1 Thunder Power 900 lipo, and to top it off, 1 Electifly 3s 1250 lipo.

I sometimes skip the nimhs. The 3 cell lipo really gives this trucks sturctual properties HELL!!!

I usually run in gravel, and/or asphalt reclaim piles. These surfaces are really abusive.

So, unless your putting your truck thru offroad hell, I think you'll be allright with just having an extra arm or two around.
