I went and bought some new stuff today....

I first weighted the new HPI rims.

Then I cut the new foam inserts for the new tires. I went with a different cut this time.

Image

Then I mounted the new Swamper tires.

In this pic you can see the screws I put in to fix the battery tray.

Here is a shot of some damage I noticed while takin' the wheels off!!!

Oh, shit, its shattered CF rod!! (Sorry, not a great pic.)

...and just a strem shot from a few days ago.

Swampers should be slightly smaller than the Moabs if I'm not mistaken.. How'd you manage to snap a CF rod? lol

Yeah man, I was one of those watchers! :-)

I still don't get the whole "crawling' thing in general. I mean I get it, but maybe just not interested. Give it a year though, right? lol I'll have my own then.

But I like this thread and like to see your project progress.

Well, I have cooked or non-working ESC in my TLT now. It stopped working the day I met up with USATorque. It just stopped, I figured it got a bit wet and all it needed was to be dried out, like the previous time I had a problem.

It needs more. It needs to be replaced.

I want a H2Oproof ESC!! I looked high/low and inbetween for a good H2Oproof ESC. Bird showed me the Mtroniks one that is H2Oproof, but it was exspensive and had to come from HK. Thats takes too long and I hate Dinball!!

So I called Tower, I couldn't find anything on the site so I called, I asked the girl about a H2Oproof ESC, she put me on hold for a minute and came back to tell me that they don't sell such an item. Lameass's...:thebird:

Horizon don't carry any, but they did have a listing for a H2Oproof ESC that will be out sometime in mid-August. I can't wait for that shit. Don't put items up if you don't have them. That crap drives me nuts, Tower is even worse.

I looked for the ESC via Google and came with nothing.

So, Ebay...HAD IT!!! $39.99 cost + $8.05 priority + $1.99 ins = $50.03 total!!

Pro Boat Waterproof ESC

This should save the day!!

EDIT: I just ordered the motor for the next TLT!!

Axiom 65t

Plus a few battery bars to rebuild the 2 3300 packs I got from Dex.

I also ordered some special last night too. You'll see them when they arrive in 3-4 weeks!!!

You know, most people stick their ESC and Rx in balloons when running in water, but that one looks way cool. I want it just because I dig the way it looks. :-o

I will do that to my RX, but the ESC needs the air to stay cool. Plus, it won't be wet all the time, I got it for more of a pre-caution. I can't afford to keep burnin' thru ESC's.

Plus, it does look cool.

I think I will probably end up removing the blue and polishing it. :???:

Since building this truck, it has undergone some minor tweaks and adjustments and has performed VERY well!!

Like all RC's, something always goes bad or breaks.

I cooked the original Dynamite Tazer ESC, and froze up a servo.

I installed and/or changed....

-Plastidipped my battery packs to protect them from corrosion.

-Unfroze the front servo, its a Hitec. I opened it up, broke it down and sprayed it with some silicone spray to free things up and to protect it from H2O. Works great now. The rear anceint Futaba servo hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

-Installed a Mtroniks WATERPROOF ESC!!

-Sealed up the axles a bit more with a couple of drops of silicone caulking on the holes leftover from the stock ballstud mounts.

-Sprayed the bearing with some silicone spray to repel a bit of H2O.

-Painted a new body!!

Here's a vid to watch.... :-)

3.5 minutes

Hey look, you got water in your creek. Got any beers?

Awesome video. I don't know, it just makes me cringe seeing a RC in so much water.

Looks like that new speedo is working out for you, and I like the new body.

Just curious, sometimes it seemed to pause and make a noise, you got something slipping? :???:

Same here.... Just looks like danger zone. Killer job man.

XXX main has some vids out on DVD, and in one of them, they jump an electric in a pool. I cringe when I see it. They drive it around on the bottom of the pool too. That water proofing has got to create some heat issues no?

Cool spot too.
