So I just get my Mini T converted to a Baja Bug, and what does Losi do? Release it as an all in one package.

With Bearings, Oil shocks, upgraded motor and the Mini LSTs ESC and FM synthesized radio, it seems like a fully loaded package, and of coarse the Baja body and paddle tires just put it over the top for me. The $249 suggested retail price kills it though.

I don't know about those. I was afraid I'd lose what little steering I have with those, but I thought they looked really good with the baja body. The skinny fronts could be mean a buggy is around the corner.

Did you notice the wheels are like copper colored? I thought they were chrome at first. I like how that ties into the paint scheme, and I really like the paint scheme. One of the nicest RTR designs I've ever seen.

First thing I noticed is the window frame decals fit, and include windshield wipers and window nets. I want those decals!

Note that it says $250 for the normal minit rtr too and it says $600 for some 1/10 roller

The bug definatly has a good scheme.

It almost looks to me like the new body is a bit shorter, lengthwise... looks stumpy compared to the other... windows, too...

Maybe it's just camera angles messing with my head... dunno... worst case, you could get the decals just to chop the nets out for yours, or even try to make adjustments to the frames, if possible.

HEY!!! I bet they're gonna sell these bodies just like the truck bodies, all painted and everything, and in a variety of colors, too... if so, mines getting a cheapie baja make-over, wheels and all, for sure.

Alright, $150 at Horizon. That's more like it, enough that I really wish I waited on my Mini-T.


And bird, it is definately fitting better on the chassis. I believe it is shorter, or at least reshaped.

I remember paying $150 for my ol minit around when they came out, lol... now just about everything is already upgraded for you short of aluminum stuff and a mod motor

They also have the bodies listed in several colors... haven't looked for the wheels yet, but I'm sure they'll have 'em... although I'm probably gonna hold off and stick to my current mission and just impulse buy that shit at HobbyclownUSA in a couple of months.

Actually it says it has an upgraded motor. Hell, its even got 8 AAs for the Tx. Its as complete as you can get, and I'm kinda pissed. I've spent more than that, and I'm still using my Mini LSTs battery, and still have to upgrade the electrics.

Son of a bitch. It was like a month ago when I ordered my decals, but its been less than a week since I've had them, and now better ones, already. Yep I am getting irritated.

Dude, that's funny as hell. Not laughing AT you, just the fact (it friggin' figures) that it happened.

Going against the advice of ph2t and betty.k, I got an RC18T
and am thoroughly disappointed with it's off-roading ability.
All is well except crap getting up into the gears, even after
installing that $30 gear cover from Driven Productions.
Losi seems to have done a much better job with that...is that correct?

Well I'd assume that the Mini-T would not handle the rough stuff as well as the RC18, since its 2wd and got a slightly shorter wheelbase, but it does have a plastic cover over the gears. I'm sure it would keep most the dirt out, but if you were running in some really fine dust, you could run a bead of silicone sealant around the gear cover, and it would be sealed up tight.

My main purpose for my Mini T is living room romping. It handles great on the carpet, it jumps like a champ, and can take the base of the fan without getting unsettled (The fan is always in my way). I also really like that its easy to maintain, I can tear down the rear end in about 5 minutes... say, that's kinda like a real VW

I'm not gonna say one is better than the other, but if your biggest issue is getting dirt in the gears, I don't believe you'll have that problem with the mini t. Besides I could use another bitPimp to discuss mini ts with.

I never really liked mine enough to upgrade it at all, but recently threw some airplane electronics and a 3 cell lipo in on the stock motor

the motor was ruined yesterday... by getting one of the solder tabs caught on something and ripped off the endbell

I was surprised how well the stock motor handled the 3 cell, not to meantion it was a beastly 2200 mah pack, pretty heavy... the motor heated up a lot, but never actually toasted itself, lol. bugger went about 35, all stock, lol... i never had any problems with anything getting into the gearbox, at all. not even any dust in it.
