"Miniturbo" Minizilla Clone - updated 30/11

Post by 45tr0 »

http://www.fmtoys.cn/english/product.as ... ctSort=421

I was wondering if any of y'all had heard of/seen these guys before?
Ive just bought one of their "miniturbo" monster trucks on ebay

It's either a clone or factory rebranded minizilla. they also have two RC18B/RC18T looking clones on their webpage... :???:

Still not sure on quality, guess i'll know in a week or so. :)

Edit - definitely looks like a factory rebrand - the truck in their promo video has "minizilla" written down the side! :???:

Hey 45tr0

Those do look like rebranded minizilla, usually what happens is -the OEM (Original Equiptment Manafacturer) will cut what's called an "OEM" deal with many companies. For instance, I could buy 2000 Iwaver02's from the OEM - Long Sun , and have them all packaged up under the name
"_s2k's 1/28" or anything I liked. :-o I'm guessing that's what these are :-o

yeah, i think its an OEM deal, but the other way around, ie. these ones are the factory brand, and hotbodies were the sell-through agent.

Funny thing is, i know stuff-all about the minizilla. This was an impulse (read = ) buy the other night. i'm in trouble with the lady for it. :-?
So is a minizilla for less than $110AUD shipped a good deal?

I'd just get the zilla just to be on the safe side. It is almost an exact clone, but the rear bumper and skidplate are longer.

thanks viper! i think if this one works out ok, i might be tempted to go back for the rc18b... funny how they made it look like the half-eight...

This one cost me $73.60 + postage = $108.60.
I got mine here

From what i understand the minizilla makes a better basher than a crawler, but we'll see when it gets here.

Yep the minizilla is a basher and not anywhere near a crawler personality.

Mine with the mamba and 3 cell lipo is insanely fun.

Just lobbed in today :-)
Out of the box this thing is awesome, pulls wheelies off the line, and a quick switch from reverse to forward will backflip
heaps of torque and fairly fast for a RTR.

build quality is not as good as my half 8, but going off info on other forums i think that's about right for the minizilla?
i don't know how much abuse the stock arms and shock towers will take as they are quite plastic, But for the money i spent it leaves more for alloy! :-o

full review this arvo after i get a whole pack through it.
