Axial Rock Racer

Post by crazydave »

Looks like this is just the RTR version of the Scorpion. I guess it has plastic links and a diff in the front, but I think it looks like a cool way to get your foot in the door.

I think its cool, because at $199 it's exactly the same price as the Wheely King. If this was available before when I got my WK, I would have got this instead, and I bet those plastic linkages will take more abuse than you might be thinking.

Price is $299.00. It'll be interesting to see the differences from the kit. Those plastic links will slide better, whether they are strong enough remains to be seen.

$299?! I thought I read $199. Now it don't seem like such a good deal.

You're dead on about the plastic sliding better. When I used to skateboard, you just could grind some curbs without some plastic copers on your trucks, but somehow I doubt you'll notice that as much on an RC that weighs a lot less than me. :???:

Plastic can bend as well... so you're a lot less likely to end your links while dragging them... I know mine are pretty damn bent from slamming mine on the rocks. :-(

At the track I race at the Axial AX-10 kit is selling for $229 (suggested list is $249.00.) I saw it at another LHS/track near my mother-in-law for $299.

I'm thinking if the list for the RTR is $299 my track will have it for $250-260 and the LHS in Easton, PA will have it for $349. :???:

Well thank god for R.C car action.

They talked about everything. There is no diff between kit and RTR other then a few plasic parts. You can use any part from the kit for the RTR and visa versa
