Da Bull 08 Comp Rig

Post by SHAUN »

I'm a little bit behind, everyone else had their 08 comp rig done a few months ago, but I'm broke, and have no job...

Here is the Specs

R2 with Dig
Bent links all around
Da Bull chassis(best chassis ever!)
Wheely king axles
RC Guy lockers
RC Guy Crawlapalooza 07 servo mount
Axial Lizards(hoping to swap for some Claws soon)
Junfac mudrock beadlocks
LRP Runner A.I. Reverse
Futaba 2pl TX
Novak XXL RX
55T Axiom
JR Sport ST126MG
TCS upper link mounts
R2J Alloy threaded shocks
Every thing is done in M3 Stainless

I'll go ahead an apologize for the pics. I'll get some better ones later.) I also realize that my shocks are loose, I need to go get some fuel tubing.

Think it has to much flex? I was thinking about limiting it a little bit.

Thank you,
Shaun

Just about ready for the comp this weekend.

I still don't have my TCS order, which has a pinion in it that I need badly.

Heres my new shell, took me about an hour to do the whole thing, lol.

Image

What do you guys think? Its just a solid color to save time since I only have about a day before the comp. My second 1/10th body.

I think I'm the first with a Monster Energy Grappler

Thank you,

Changed it up a little for Crawlapalooza, gonna be lots of people there this year, and manufactures, witch means sponsor opportunities, gotta be on my toes :).

Moved every thing to the front links to get a lower CG, and to get more weight up front.

It will also stand on its side, with the body on.

I broke a stock rear axle, so I installed some RC4WD Stainless Straight axles, in the rear.

Time to update the list.

Carnage report from the comp this weekend. I broke the axle shaft on course #3(good thing I had an extra to toss in it), and I broke the stub shaft after the comp when my radio decided to glitch and sent my truck off a 4 foot cliff.

Not a big deal, I have been saving for some CVDs any way.

Image

Got some good battle scars on the body, I also killed my TCS Delrin lock plate for the dig, I guess I didn't have my end points set right:roll: I had to toss the steel lock plate back in it after the first course.

Good going Shaun.

I knew I should have started a pool.

I was wondering how many rounds it would be before you broke something. You do have some talent for parts destroying. :-D

I'm waiting till you have that rig BULLETPROOF. Do you have any of the original Wheely King parts still on the truck?

The only thing stock is the axle cases and the link mounts.

Awe crap, LHS had them in stock.

I was saving for the DX3R, but I really like this, and the range is awesome! And no glitches! The best bit about it, is a DSM 2 Radio and Receiver for $99!!

$99 bucks for 5 channels is a pretty damn good price. So what are gonna use the extra channels for? You thinking about building a Super class crawler?

DSM is nice. I wasn't too worried about it, since I never race with other people, but after trying it, just the fact there's no long ass antennas getting in my way, makes it worthwhile to me.

A tiny oil can and sprayer would be cool, you could slick up the rocks behind you so that no one else would make it. :-o Just be sure to go first and complain between rounds that "somethings all over those rocks."

I was thinking Lights and Horn. Maybe the Beep Beep horn from the old Road Runner, or playing Dixie.

Hey, wasn't Shaun into airsoft stuff? Maybe that was someone else? But here's a thought, how about a working pellet gun? It could be mounted like a turret and you could literally blow away the competition. :ak:

Lol, That might be a little excessive.

I found out another hobby shop had a deal on some radios, I went in to check them out and they were Spektrum DX6's, He said he got a good deal on a lot of them from his vendor, he took and split up the Transmitter, Receiver, and servo's. He made me a deal on a RX and TX for $60(He did want $30 for TX and $40 for RX). Not a bad deal for a DSM system, 6 channels, and they still have the factory warranty! Also one of the reasons he got a good deal on them is because they are mode 1, the throttle is on the right side. But I like how its set up, I'm using the left stick for throttle and if I want to I could set my dig up on the right stick.
