Cloned HPI Baja! I want one!
Anyone heard any news on these Baja 5b Clones??
Wondering how they are for quality...
I'm thinking that with the saving of coin, I could afford to upgrade to a 29cc motor, powerpipe, titanium unijoints and front and rear hydraulic brakes for less than the cost of a genuine stocker...
Got any large scale pimps representin?

They used to scare me too, until I bought my minizilla clone. Apart from weak stock dogbones (which I'd intended to swap out anyway) it is identical to the real deal. I was blown away at the quality!Murdoch wrote:Clones scare me.
Just wondering though... The bigger scale is a concern...

But it is a Shen Qi Wei!!

I have seen those, but I don't remember where. I was checking out the website, and it was rather vague, but I wanted one.
I am wary of clones, but in the case of a car like this, there are a plethora of hop ups, so I'd probably swap out a bunch of parts anyways.
Still though, even at clone pricing, it's still more than I can afford off hand. Maybe someday.
