a t-maxx sounds pretty good but do you guys have any thing to say about the trucks on nitrorcx.com?

those would be alright till you broke a part because there is like no aftermarket support

That hasn't been an issue with me, when I break a part, NitroRCX can usually have me a new one day after tomorrow. They also offer machined aluminum hop ups for the Exceed cars so it is possible to upgrade. While the LHS may carry Traxxas parts, the chance they have the part you just broke seems to be about a 50/50 chance, I usually end up ordering my parts anyways. Whether NitroRCX will still be there in few years remains to be seen, but for now, I am more than satisfied with parts support.

I am not recommending one of these cars to him because the engines can be finicky, the instructions can be hard to understand, and while I've had great luck with my cars, I'm sure quality control can be spotty.

With that said, I love my Tectonic, whatever people say about Exceed cars, this one works for me. I've bashed it over the last year, and it is one of my better handling cars on the track. While I have nothing bad to say about it, it has had my TLC, so it may not work out as well for beginners.

I think I got it, the Asssociated MGT 3.0. It is 1/10 scale with a .18 engine, 2-speed and reverse. Associated's quality is always top notch, the instructions are clear and informative, and a good electronics package, all for $269, and if you wait for Tower to get them back in stock, you can use their $20 coupon on it.

TMaxx is good, I thought since you mentioned the NitroRCX cars that maybe you were looking for something cheaper, so I was just putting this option out there.

remember when i said i was going to go to the LHS well that never happen until yesterday.
the bad thing was that they didn't have any t-maxxs, but they did have revos in stock. i didnt want to buy some thing with out you guys opinions. my question should i go with the revo or should i wait for a t-maxx?

i've never ventured into nitro land but in my rc opinion traxxas are making excellent rc's for people from beginner to pro.

and being a hobby grade rc, if there are any components that fall short (motor?) you can easily replace them with another brand. go traxxas!!

I've got a Revo. It's the original version, but I put a 3.3 in it when the 2.5R lost compression.
I like the Traxxas's customer service and instructions, and the starting system rocks for a first timer. But one thing I don't like about their Nitros is the break in process. But as a first Nitro, I say go for the Revo instead of the TMaxx.

the revo looks like it isn't as lifted as i would like it to be. but that doesn't mean im stiking to the t-maxx i want to hear what Dave and the other pimps haft to say

The Revo can be lifted higher for more ground clearance. But, by all means, get many opinions. It isn't a cheap decision.
I will say this. The TMaxx does have a longer history of aftermarket parts, so the prices can be good to get some good quality stuff.
