I don't know , so far the only problem I had is the shock towers are weak, soon to be replaced by 7075 towers. http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/149594.asp
I hope your saying that nitro RC in its self is a lot of work, and not that all XTM's are a POS , cause my Mammoth is very durable and strong.

Sounds like a air leak in your engine. Time to tear it down, and seal it up.
Also check your fuel lines, and O-ring in the tank.. If it's got a fuel filter, check that too.

i use to have a habit of when i brought something new i would have to strip it down and rebuild everything, when i bought my old traxxis s/hand i ran it once and pulled it down, put new seals through everything and generally went over the whole truck, cause you never know what its been through before

Ok, everything is tight and right, just need my pull starter, witch my mom had to pic up.
:::EDIT::: I also got a motor that my LHS owner gave me when I baught the truck used from him, I put it all back together, put it on my airplane test stand and rigged my plane starter to fit the fly wheel, it's amazing that it actually runs.
