Xmod: check out my barbed wire graphic

Post by crazydave »

This looks simple, but it took me hours to mask off. I think it looks cool, but I'm not sure it was worth the effort.

It's actually not supposed to have the fade in it, but I noticed I missed a spot on the back, and reached down to grab my can to give it a quick squirt across the back. I accidently grabbed the white primer, and now it has a fade. That's ok, I think it helps transition into the fender.

Nice work crazydave! It's funny how things work out sometimes, huh? I actually like the fade. What would look cool is to have it run to the front of the car and over the hood, almost as if it had run thru the fence and took it with the car. Just another few hours of masking right?

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Same basic technique as I use to do my flames. Just follow this tutorial: Painting Flames and Graphics 101, and when you get to the part where you print the flame to the tape, just print your graphic instead.

That's kinda what was supposed to happen. I'm debating, stick with the barbed wire theme across the hood, or go with a tattoo theme, and put a skull, and Inca design on the hood. Something different that ties into the same feel, you know?

Thanks for the the comps cabo, and everyone. It is worth the effort when others dig on my work. :-)

crazydave,
Do you mask onto the car, or do you cut out the template on glass or something, and then transfer it?

I cut on glass then transfer it. Check the link I gave Brenden123 up above, it covers my technique in detail.
