Seeing payasos newly acquired Bandit lurking in the background of his latest T-Maxx pic made me nostalgic for 1/10th scale today, and I had to go diggin' in my closet and pull out the old Rustler... I bought this truck back in like '96 or so when they were pretty new(mine is so early, it doesn't even have a slipper, which they added soon after they came out), and proceeded to drive the snot out of it. The body is an older Andys(I think) Toyota SR5 that I had bought back in like '89 when people were first starting to convert buggies into stadium trucks. It was originally mounted on my TRX10 Bullet(waaaaay old school Traxxas buggy), which also sits dormant in my closet, as a rolling chassis waiting for me to get around to resurrecting it.

This truck survived several summers of hard back alley bashing, until they repaved the alley and I bought the Pro-Line speed hawg tires to adapt to my newly smooth bashing spot, and soon after, the electronics gave out. It has been sitting ever since, but I think that once I cross a few more smaller scale cars off of my gotta-get list, I will resurrect it with a modern esc and motor. Oh, and this body was only my second attempt at painting, ever... Here are the pics I just snapped earlier tonight, when 219 was up my cribby with his cam...

Dude.... That thing looks kick ass. You kept it well.

Now I'm gonna have to convert the Bandit to the Rusty. Thats what I wanted in the first place, but couldn't pass on a new in the box Bandit for 25 beans.

Shouldn't cost you too much. I went through a thing last fall just before the micros grabbed me where I was planning on converting the Rustla into a 'Pede... It worked out to be like $55 and you figure most of that was the tires, plus the Stampede chassis had a bunch of different parts... Wouldn't take nearly as much to go from a Bandit to a Rustler... pretty much the front body mount, rims and tires(I'd go aftermarket), and a body(I'd go aftermarket here, too) and you'd be set, I think... I have a whole folder of Traxxas parts lists and exploded views saved... I'll check to make sure nothing else is needed...

If you could get me a list of parts I need, that would be kick ass. Get that damn thing runnin dude..lol

You should just need front supension arms, shock tower, medium sized shocks, front body mount, and of coarse truck wheels and tires.

Traxxas stuff is really interchangable, even my Stampede shared about 90% of it's parts with the Bandit.

Aaaaaight... I pulled up all of the parts lists and exploded views, and heres what I got so far... I'll double check later to be sure I didn't miss anything...

The shocks, towers, bulkheads, steering blocks, and rear carriers are all the same throughout the three vehicles... but the Bandit does have some different stuff than the other two... you would need:

3655- suspension arms,long, rear... $10
3631- front suspension arms... $8
3641- f&r non adjustable camber links...$3
3139- 62mm turnbuckles... $2
(I would just reuse the Bandit ends on those, but #2742 is 6 for $4)
3632- 30 degree caster blocks... $4
(the description is the same between the 2, but the part# is different)
1951- half shafts, inner and outer... $6
(they also sell a six pack of these #1953 for $10)
1914- front body mount... $5

I didn't get the part numbers for wheels, tires or body because, honestly, Pro-Line has much nicer looking rims and bodies readily available, and waaaay better tires in a bunch of styles and compounds, all for not much more than the Traxxas stuff.

Don't worry, fellas... I will be getting to mine soon, installing a decent esc and hotter motor, along with bearings, a slipper clutch, and one of those Pro-Line F-150 bodies, too.
