Gone Rallying

Post by HirotoR34 »

Well, I've been gone for a while but with good reason. I have been working on this car for almost a month. I wanted to have a car modeled after my own ride, So I went down to the hobby store and picked up a tamiya 1/24th scale focus wrc model kit. in order to make it fit, I had to chop the body and side windows to fit the wheelbase of my Xmod.
I then adapted the wheels/tires and disc brakes. I used the roll cage, dash and steering wheel to make it more realistic. I wanted to build a full interior, but there wasn't enough clearance. to mount the body, I sacrificed my skyline body for the rear mount, and an extra bumper slot.
I used the closest shade of red I could find to match my SVT Focus. I then adapted the light kit to the body.
It came out pretty nice. Pics kinda suck though (phone cam)

I was thinkin' the same thing... Good call Finks.

I remember seeing pics of that Focus somewhere back in the archives one time and both together would make for some killer shots. Definately cool, Hiroto... Nice work. I like how you matched the controller, too.

It's all good. cars are cool... The only thing that blows (besided the fact that I need more bit money. ) is the ball bearing kit I picked up at RS. It slowed it down. I need more juice so I'm pretty much looking for any upgrades I can find. Saw something about CF chassis too, but I can't remember where.

Hey, nothing wrong with a hopped up Focus. Nice job fitting it on the xmod chassis.

TinyRC has the CF chassis, they also have better quality bearings.

Check out cjshobbies.net for info on GPMs machined aluminum parts coming out for the Xmod.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.
