Another bug bite!
Got the Mini-X Beetle lookin' body from TinyRC. It works out ok, except it is cheap polycarbonate, only thicker than the original Iwaver body, but it seems pretty durable. Another draw back is the holes for the body post and antenna are pre-drilled, too bad since I wont be using them. It came with some window mask made with cheap sticker paper. I tried them for the heck of it, and as expected got paint bleeds on the from windshield where it had to flex. It'd be a good Idea to just use them as template formaking your mask out of tape. Overall I'd say it was worth $4.
Since I was picking up some Pactra paints, I had to get the CheZoom Teal, since it was there. You know, that's a Boyd Coddington color. I tried to trim it to look as much as possible like a baja bug, cause you guys know I like baja bugs.
I think it came out pretty good. Too bad I got a Tahoe body showing up in the next day or two.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Yeah well, I just took it outside to try to get a little crazy with it, and it just aint fast enough, yet to get on my roof like Betty. It was fun spinning donuts, but I guess I'll stick to mowing over dirty laundry for now.
I think it might be a tad over geared, really punchy and powerful, but no top end.

Now I just can't help but think how soon Kyosho will bite your style and release the "Mini-Z Monster Beetle"... yeah yeah they'll play it off like it's based on the OG Kyosho Monster Beetle, but WE know the truth...

Yeah, I could sense some doubt when I ordered it, and honestly, I didn't expect much, just thought it would be fun.Bird wrote:Hey that's lookin' damn good there Dave... waaaaay nicer fit than I pictured when you ordered it... and it goes without saying that the paint is awesome... you have a way with the veedubs, man...

At first I just cut it out on the lines like street car, and had it jacked up, and it looked about as I expected, but then I put it on lower, and it looked cool, I just need to carve out the wheel wells to make room for the tires. Once I started cutting away, it was obvious what direction I had to go.
Guess it is kinda like one of them old Kyosho Monster Beetles, I hadn't thought of that. I used to want one of those.
Bumpers, Finks? I hope you're not talking about one of them big ol' brush guards like on a Nikko car. Those are always the first to go.
