payaso and myself abused our Overlands a little while I was down visiting him. It was a blast to finally be able to drive with someone versus driving by myself. Even just playing around, much more fun.

My Overland is setup stock just as it comes out of the box and payaso's has a few upgrades like the x-speed motor and alloy oil shocks.

Hey Payaso, where you get oil filled alloy shocks? I was under the impression the GPM units are non-oil filled.

Naw, by that time my passenger side mirror was broken off.

I am gonna need a new body though.

Oh and the shocks, I think I fudged that up, I believe those GPM alloy shocks are grease filled.


Man, I was impressed with how well those little bastards ran on that track, talk about funny.

Like cabo said, they're not like a 1/10 oil shock.

They have seals, and O rings, but use a super thick silicone oil.

It's the same oil I use for the diffs on the Revo. 30,000 weight


Very cool shocks, and they were only 36 bones

My BMW body is trashed... I run without it at times to just get that extra speed out of it.. Those auto scale bodies weigh a ton...lol

Yeah, it's like was saying before, I got a model car body to replace my Iwaver's polycarbonate body, and it just seemed way too heavy to me. so never used, I might just build it as a model one day.

Oh and Cabo, my shocks froze up to, after running in the dirt. Careful with that, that's how I broke my rear shock tower. I cleaned them out and worked some bearing grease into them, now they're smoother than ever. They'll just probably be a mess to clean next time.

Man, I'd be too worried about those front ends being out there unprotected. I need to show you guys some pictures of hue and my MR02 Supras and NSXs that we race on our track. They make betty.k's cars look like concours show cars.

I think I'm gonna have to follow suit and get some GPM alloy shocks.
That'll mark the beginning of the end for me, once one part is alloy, you know the rest have to follow sooner or later. lol

those bodies are heavy looking, i'd be running with a minimal body of sorts to reduce weight.

lol well the one thing I can reccomend id bigger tires and better motor. I've got both on mine and its loads of fun. You'd have no problem on those hills lol. if you decide to order some alloy hit me up so I can get you some money. Save shipping if we both order at the same time you know?

So, what you guys were doing in the vid there is considered "Overland Abuse"?
I understand that they're not made for that dirt track, but what's their application? I mean, where do owners of OLs 'normally' drive 'em?
And aren't those 3"-5" jumps in the living room okay for this sort of rig?

They drive em on those RCP tracks like hue, and supe got.

They also have carpet tracks. I run mine anywhere, cause it's a tough little bastard. It'll get stuck in sand/loose dirt being it's only 2wd, but I can deal with that. If I want to rip some dirt from the ground, I have trucks for that..


The OLs do handle jumps pretty well for their size.

Yea, the abuse part came in with the dirt. All that dirt and sand gets caught up in your suspension and pretty much everywhere. My shocks were crap after that track.

They take some abuse and keep going, but that dirt / sand stuff it no likey that much.
