Baja Overland
Went to wallyworld the other day and picked up this plastic baja body for around $7. THey have 4 different color combos and the body is mounted on a cheap battery charger that revs up the car and sends it across the room into the wall
Anyways, i took it home and hacked it up so i could mount it on my overland. I didnt have to do any cutting other than the body mounts,, the wheel wells were cut perfectly and work great with the super swampers.
The overland is fully alloy with FET upgrades a modified motor oil shocks and countless other upgrades.

Fuck... That thing is killer lookin. I've been racing the shit out my overland the past month, and it needs a rebuild like hell.
I want it to look like that one of these days, but with the other trucks being shut down, it'll have to wait.

Thanks guys. Yeah, i was suprised how well the wheel wells hold the big ol swampers in and with no cutting
. I didnt origionaly buy the body for the overland but it fit so well i couldnt help it.
As for the super swampers, yep, they will fit any of the first gen xmod/mini z line of wheels. Im using two sets of wide rear tires from the mini z) With the evo truck wheels you may be hard pressed to get them to fit well,, they are slightly larger diameter and a smaller width( and yes, you would need to grind down that lip) But of course any older xmod wheel will work on the new axles so that would fix your problem.

I don't know.... The price increase would put em in competition with 1/10 1/8 RTRs..
Or were you just sayin...lol
I'm burnt.

Shit man, at almost $200 for that chrome monster with the oil shocks, and bearings included, it makes more sense to invest in a Stampede... cheaper anyways.payaso wrote:betty.k wrote:man, if overlands came outta the box looking like that they woulda sold a lot more

Yeah guys, i would have never paid for all that alloy and put it together myself. I picked this baby up used from dogbreathracing on minizracer.com. I was crusing ebay about a year back and saw it on there,, it never sold so i sent him an email and worked out a hell of a deal. $200 shiped with 5 or 6 sets of custom tires, 3 bodies, extra parts, and all this:
GPM alloy tie rod
Gpm alloy front servo box
Gpm alloy rear gear box
GPM alloy front shock mount
GPM alloy rear shock mount
GPM alloy wide rear racer wheels
GPM alloy steering knuckles
GPM alloy steering assembly (servo saver)
GPM alloy main gear cover
GPM alloy motor heat sink
GPM alloy 32mm shocks
GPM ball diff (locked)
Topcad Alloy battery clips
Yeah racing bearings
Alloy wheel nuts
Titanium main gear
Titanium servo gears
Custom internal antenna
MZ's 4th generation 38T modified motor (and 3 other motors)
MZ's stage 3 FET upgrade (2x3 stacked)
a whole lot of tires
Alloy skid plate
and a few other upgrades,,,
cant go wrong in my opinion. Only thing is, i cant say i built the whole thing.
