No No No! Not again. Too many things I need. Been thinking about a heli now there's no excuse. What do ya'll think, can it be modded. You know where my brain is. I have 5 Toys-R-Us that I take care of the vending in the breakroom, they already know I'm on the lookout for modding ideas. They are thinking right now when I'm going to show up to check these out

I wasn't bustin' your chops, it's just still not clear to me if there's a difference between the RS and the TRU helicopters... anyone?TheMechanic54 wrote:Sorry about that. It's been awhile since we used Tandy in front of Radio Shack. It was at Toys R Us, RS said a couple of days before they receive
their helis.

I picked up the Radio Shack version last night, and it's pretty cool. Driving it is pretty interesting, and takes a little to get the hang of it. I highly recommend doing your first flights in a very large, open room.
The thing that seems to be the trick is to be constantly trimming the side rotor. You can set the trim to be neutral, but it constantly changes depending on whether you are climbing or descending, so just to fly relatively straight requires slight pressure on the turn stick one way or the other. Also, be careful about flying up near lights. It's infra-red controlled, so the light will blur out your signal.
BTW, my ratshack version looks identical to beanoman's TRU model, except mine has yellow and orange flame graphics rather than the blue ones in the pictures, but that may have been different depending on which freq you get.
I get to be a better pilot every charge. I'm on about my 4th charge/session, and I can pick a course around the room and a landing spot pretty well now. Out of the box, it's designed to just hover vertically, but it comes with little pieces of aluminum tape that you can add to the nose, which causes it to pitch forward just a bit to give you forward direction. The handling isn't super-precise, cuz you're basically driving with two channels when you really need three, but good enough for $30 to fly around the room.

For anyone that cannot find it at TRU or Rat shack like I the above is a link to order on line.
I hope to have mine in sometime next week!
Can I put guns on it?
