I've been toying with the idea of getting into planes. I was at a hobby shop while visiting my brother in CT and they had a Real Flyer demo station set up. We stayed there for about an hour the first day and went back the next and flew for another 3 hours. It was a blast!

I like the idea of a micro plane but I want something that's at least 4 channel and 3d capable would be a bonus. Not sure if it's the best choice for a first plane though.

You know if you guys are itching for micro RC shit for anything...
http://www.hobbycity.com

Super cheap, super fast shipping, ultra reliable, I've ordered over $1,000 so far and everything came as promised, or as the reviews say.. I had a 36A HXT BESC that burned at less than 15A, and a Zippy-R 2000mAh 3s lipo that has 200mOhms ESR... pretty bad, but that accounts for about $50 of the $1,000..

Now as far as the micro RC planes, they carry a single cell 3A BESC, 2g Spektrum 6ch RX, any size lipo, 2g brushless motor... You could literally build a fully aerobatic 3D profile foamy under 35g!

Hobby City is great, I order all kinds of stuff from them all the time. And I've had good luck with their lipo batts. And the charger I bought last year(Imax B5) is still going strong.

Redrustbucket, I assume you were at Hobby Town USA, most of the Hobby Towns have a RealFlight G4.5 demo set up.

Actually I was here http://www.timemachinehobby.com/
Huge 3 story converted textile warehouse with about everything you could imagine inside. Half of the top floor is a train layout. Basement's converted into a gaming room. Biggest hobby shop I've ever been in. I've been to some with more r/c stuff for sure but it's still pretty impressive.
