Which One?

You guess know I have been wanting a heli for the last year or so, I finally have some money sitting and I don't need to buy anything so I figured might ass well spend a little on a heli.

which one would be best for me? I do have some what of an idea of how to fly land I've been flying on a sim for a couple years.

that Honey bee is one of the best micro fixed pitch helis out there.

all micros are squirley..but damn fun.
Walkera's tend to have glitching problems. decent birds but crap electronics.

coming out soon there's a palm sized walkera 4#3 fixed pitch thats the same size as a picoo-z. They are also coming out with a 4g3 6ch collective pitch version.

insane.

Price for the walkera 4#3. I found it though. I can't find a training gear kit in stock. Would it work if I just used some ping pong balls, carbon fiber rod(or similar), and then zip tied it to the skids in a X? Also what are the most common parts I'm going to break?

oh you were talking about the 4#3, sorry my bad. lowest i found that was in stock was around $140 shipped.

for training gear, what you said will work or the get the eflight blade cp
training gear, it's universal and will fit all the carbon stick frame micro's.

the fp is pretty durable in crashes. bending the main shaft and breaking skids are about it. those plastic blades are pretty tough and can withstand quite a beating. the main shaft and flybar can be bent back into
shape a few times before they get real weak/pickup weird vibes.
tail motors dont like 3s lipo, so thats a factor if you upgrade batteries.
there are plenty of tail options tho. dual motor, direct drive gws, etc.

did some researchh, that falcon 40 doesnt look bad either. although it
might be harder to find falcon parts than it is esky parts. esky parts are
everywhere and cheap.

I'd go with a cheapo first and see if you get bored right away. If you really like flying then get the best you can afford. I was actualy impressed with and AirHog that some kid had at our park...it was something like $60 and then when you go to upgrade slap some cutom paint on the thing and sell it to some idiot on ebay.

I would go for the honeybee FP myself. Me and nashpere have had those walkera type helis and they are just meh-meh. As far as the 4#3, DON'T go for one of those on your first try.. The smaller the heli gets, the harder it is to fly.

And be careful about getting into bigger helis. My HB King is up to just around $400 and I still don't have the new motor

However its almost done. I can't wait untill I can post it with the new stuff, cause that will mean I'm done spending.. lol..

ooh.. nice. I'm still waiting on 1 part for my King as well, the damn RX.
cc berg 7p has been on backorder all month.

Havent decided what servo to use for tail, the s3154 is digital, but the hs50
is slightly faster. i have both, just have to test them out. cant do much without an rx.

more squirly, more parts to break and more parts to keep adjusted when you crash. = more $ and more downtime.

the cash you save by flying a fixed pitch first, will probably equal that of a new heli. not a joke

i started on a cp, and ive accumulated enough parts to build a second complete airframe fromhead to tail.

clint's right, but i'd say avoid a fixed pitch.

best path in my opinion is a counter rotating heli then go for a collective pitch heli. and don't forget the training gear.

I'm going for a fixed pitch heli. There a venom night ranger on rc junkyard it has super skids on it. I offered him $74.
