Ty's Micro Buggy
ill throw this project on here also even tho ive about wrapped it up.. besides painting the clear shell for it.. ill post pics from start to where im at, not really any working on it pics but i got pics
now here i go
first off, this started out as a stock micro-t with yellow wheels.. my first buy was the chrome wheels (i wanted the buggy ones, but they didnt have them and still never do when i go there) after that i ran it a couple times, than finally decided to get to work, it took about 3 1/2 months to get to where im at now.
i got started on the chassis, this was the main part of what i needed to work around, this is extended 22mm's which is a few mm's longer than the desert truck, its 110mm's from axel to axel, the chassis with everything just thrown on:

than after i ran this a few times and was totall excited how well it handled and didnt pop up easy and felt more like a larger rc i decided to go alot cleaner with it and made a new chassis, this one got polished on the bottom and white on the top half, this is the one its using right now still, its aluminum:

after the nice process of working with the dremel on the chassis, i begin figure out the layout i wanted to work around. and how to mount the servo nicely, heres a pic of that:

in the mean time of figuring out how i wanted to do the body since i have to make the mold and everything else by hand, i made a carrying case for it:

and than, i finally got the mold done after about a month of working on it off and on, and started to run some test bodies to get it all figured out and straintend up.. this first one fell short but it gave me the idea of how the top half looked:

while running more test bodies to get the whole body of it formed, my daughter kept getting in t he way and messing up the styrene i was using.. so i moved to milk cartons, lol and than i decided i wanted to slant the rear of the top down some:

and than finally. after i noticed a spot on the body above, i ran another one, which i ended up making the wing mold before hand.. this is the body and wing of the last one:

and now that all the hard work is done, i ran a clear body tonight, but im not showing anymore pics until it gets painted.
so now ur caught up with this project and have to wait, lol unless it sells before than, but than ill just post pics of the body getting painted
theres alot more done to this than i said, like the charger modding, the stock shock modding to give it damping, etc... this thing rides beautiful and didnt have to spend alot of money on hopups which i didnt, some people have figured out mods to make it ride better.. the shock mod was key to it riding better, and you keep the stock shocks, it rides like the 20 dollar greased shocks everyones buying and cost me nothing to do
its not all about the bling to me, its about standing out.. and this will stand out far more than a blinged out one... also i forgot to add, i didnt want to do a newer looking buggy thats more rounded, i kinda wanted that "old school" boxy look and this is what i came up with and couldnt be any happier.. thanks for lookin and reading all this if you took the time, lol
