Epoch Question
If I wanted to buy and epoch, Could I buy a chassis/body set and use a contoller I already have? The full sets aren't made anymore, but TinyRC has chassis sets.

Re: Epoch Question
I am sure that any FM radio should work (for the exception of mini Z radios), I tried using a mini Z radio on one of my epochs and it didn't work to well.

I'll check on the RC18 controller for you when I get a chance, but it should work. I use the Iwaver Tx with mine.

Re: Epoch Question
you should be able to use any 27mhz am radio with an epoch.
as for charging, might be time to invest in a proper charger.
but be warned, most epochs are old and the batteries are most likely dead. perfect opportunity to upgrade to lipo cells

Re: Epoch Question
Li-Po's are too expensive! :-xand they go BOOM!!!, but what betty.k said is right, you should replace the batts. i would go with ni-mh or ni-cd but thats just my opinion.

Re: Epoch Question
The Epoch comes with a 3-cell battery, which you'll want to upgrade anyways. I put a 4th cell in mine, but I bet you could stick a Micro-T Lipo in there. It has a built in protection circuit, so it'll be safe.

Re: Epoch Question
I never thought of the micro t lipo, I was going to order a new battery for my epoch but now that you mention it it does look like the losi lipo should fit nicely.

Re: Epoch Question
Well I remember it was a tad bit of a pain cramming 4-cells in there, and the Lipo does fit a little more snugly than the stock 4 cell battery in the micro-t, but worst case scenario I think a little shaving would be all it needed.sidewinder wrote:I never thought of the micro t lipo, I was going to order a new battery for my epoch but now that you mention it it does look like the losi lipo should fit nicely.
Now that I think about it, I would totally do it, probably make the Epoch a lot more fun with the extra voltage, but I just have the one battery for my Micro-T, and was already needing to buy more of those.

Re: Epoch Question
ph2t has managed to shove a Walkera 5g6 and 4#3 micro heli battery into his epoch with great success.

Re: Epoch Question
yup and I just bought a bunch of batts and chargers off ebay to do all 4 of my epochs.
seriously it's like 20+ minutes runtimes with the stock motor.
And the walkera wall pack charger for these batts is really cheap, $10 bux.
My goal is to have 4 wall pack chargers charging up the 4 epochs at the same time for some racing action with my mates.......
