Sounds to me like you're running it low on electrons. Try topping it up.

Hopefully you won't need to hit the hobby shop and get a bottle of magic smoke for it.

usually that is caused by a broken antenna.. im assuming you are running the stock antenna still. the stock antenna has strands of wire inside the insulation, over time they will break and cause your car to get poor to no reception.. you can fix this by either soldering on a new and better antenna, or if you dont know how to solder (thinking you may not) there is a gold ring around the passengers side screw hole in the back towards the shock tower under the cover, you can screw the wire down there around the screw as it is a point for an antenna also and than just remove the stock antenna.
