Clone to Epoch Conversion...

Post by I AM »

Recently i had been thinking about swapping an EPOCH PCB into a RS/DG/Ripmaxx Clone and basically having a cheap fully propo Epoch knockoff. Is ther anything else neccesary other than this?

Do 1/43 clones , with their limited steps...require something other than a new PCB to make them fully propo?

I am not sure but I think the number of teeth on the steering motor would also have something to do with it.

Do you have extra epoch pbc's? or were you just wanting different chassies/bodies?

Naw...just wondering if it would be as simple as a PCB swap to turn a 10-30 dollar 12 step clone into an "Repoch".

When you add the servo thats needed....and the shipping....its still at CHEAP Spec 1 price ( and thats if you assume the clone cost you 10 bucks). And this STILL doesnt account for DIY work.

THe only way this MIGHT be worth my time..is if im looking to make one for under "Spec 2" price. But *sigh* even then...you have Spec 2 electronics in a Spec 1 frame (no indy rear suspension). It just isnt worth it.
