Make your own heavy duty slipper and pinion gears
Heavy duty custom slipper gear and pinion for the micro-t,
I think these are damn near indestructable.
Stock slipper is around 50 teeth, the black one is about 40
and the white one is 36. These are from junked standard size
futaba servos. Trimming down the intermediate gears in the servo will make up the pinions.
Start with a standard size servo gear.

Cut out the guts

More than double the thickness, plus stronger pitch teeth. (the gears in the background will be cut up to use as pinions)

Now any size pinions are easy to find. trimmed zzmt gears(8,9,10),
servo gears(found random ones from 10-23). some trimming of the motor
mount plate is needed.

Another one. this one will allow for crazy speeds.

bloody hell, why didn't I think of that! I've got some old futaba's liying around I may just check out, thanks clint!
The ducted fan motor I have is screaming for some higher speed gear ratios, I need somthing to make use of all the extra torque.
So the pitch you're using is not compatible with the stock gearing yes? and you're using larger pinions from servos to up the teeth count yeah?
good bloody work man!
ph2t.

yeah, both pinion and slipper are a larger pitch than the micro-t parts.ph2t wrote: So the pitch you're using is not compatible with the stock gearing yes? and you're using larger pinions from servos to up the teeth count yeah?
i've been running the 13pinion/36slipper and it's just too fast. slight
cogging on startup, alleviated by setting low startup, low timing and 30%
launch control using the castle link. even messing with the throttle curves,
hitting full throttle from any speed just causes it to spin out. going to try
the 40 tooth slipper next. driveable=good, dyno queen=bad.
