Micro-Baja

My loving wife just bought for me a Micro-Baja. They just arrived at the LHS this week. I'll get some images up soon, My camera i in the shop so I have to find the wifes. I'm still getting the clear body when they come in later this month.

Wow, your wife? How did you ever manage to find a woman that not only understands an obsession with toy cars (and trucks, bikes, helis' etc.) but encourages the hobby?

I got lucky.

She shares my love of RC and war gaming (Warhammer Fantasy, Lord of the Rings.)

She got hooked on the micro RC when I bought her the Yellow VW beetle Bit Char-g out of Hong Kong shortly after they came out. She has Bit and ZipZaps (not quite as many as me) a X-Mod (Gen 1) a Mini Quake, Mini Inferno (Her second is on it's way), PRO-B100, Vendetta and Micro-T.

I have the clear body and mounts on order previous to her getting me the Micro-Baja so I could convert my T onto a B(aja) whenever I wanted.

I'm hoping to have images up later tonight.

OK guys, I know you've been waiting for it.

Bilbo's new Micro-Baja.

Now Topless Micro-Baja Pictures.

As you can see the front mount on the Micro-Baja sits higher than the Micro-T. The rear mount screws onto the rear shock tower (looks like through the T mount hole.

I had Micro-B aspirations, but then decided to move onto bigger things, but when that body comes out, I will be converting one of my Micro-Ts.

Same A-Arms, but I never had a problem with the a-arms. The steering linkage is clear but I have a few guitar pick links ready to go.

I wonder if they're using Lexan. That would work pretty good.

To me it looks like the same ones as the later Micro-T vehicles (and the ones the stores got packages of to hand out as free replacements.) I know the one that was on the wife's truck bent when it hit a wall.

If you aren't putting on ball ends than I still say the guitar pick is better.

I like the chrome rims, no more YELLOW.

The e-clips are the same one used on the Mini-T suspension. But I prefer to go threaded axles. I think I'm going to order 3racing's universal rear axles and threaded front axles as well as a set of ball bearings.

I guess I'll get another set of bearing from Bud (BRP) unless somebody can convince me there are better ones on the market in the same price range.

I tried zip ties and broke a steering knuckle. Switched to guitar picks, cheap (12 for under 4 bucks and each one can make 4-5) and thin, and haven't had a problem since.
