Outdoor ZZMT Trials Course

Post by Cubman »

I just got my ZZMT today, and I've already built a new place to run it. I still need to kill some weeds, and pull that black plastic stuff up.

Here's an overhead shot of the whole thing.

The largest portion of the course is made up of landscaping rocks, which offer an almost infinite number of lines.

Next is a gravel road leading from the landscaping rocks to the stump. The stock turning radius of a ZZMT makes this climb more challenging than it looks.

From the stump, you can choose to go down the hill climb or off the ledge.

Here are a few other 'gates' I built into the course:

The sand pit: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cubman194 ... pg&.src=ph

The climb up to the landscaping timbers bordering the course: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cubman194 ... pg&.src=ph

The log pile (soon to lengthened): http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cubman194 ... pg&.src=ph

Thanks for looking. Please post up any suggestions you have, I am open to building other obstacles or rearranging the course.

No need to pull up weeds or "black things". Just DRIVE over that shit . That track looks great. There is a sticky in the bit/zip section that details the articulation mod. Maybe you'd want to try that later on when you get into harder , slow speed crawling :-o.

Great track man

Yeah, forget pulling up the weeds, unless ya can't drive over 'em or they're in the way.
I have no new weeds on my track, but the existing ones have grown a bunch, accentuating the original intent of leaving them in the first place.
I'm tellin' ya though, you'll have to change that loose dirt hill in pic 7, unless I'm not imagining the size correctly.
Can you give us a overview shot of the whole track? Uber Alles Bitte?

The dirt mound in picture #7 is impossible to climb from the sides, but I can make it up the ridge. The hill pictured is closest to the sandpit. The hill to the left of the stump in picture #1 is what I consider the actual hill climb (I took a picture of the wrong thing  ).

Do you want a picture of the whole thing from closer to the ground?

Ha, I knew it! I just happen to have a little 'practice' with dirt and zzmts. Check out my track in this forum section if you have time.

No, sorry man, looks like you took a pic of the whole thing already, pic(1).
I thought that was a 'section' of the track, but I'm getting the perspective of the whole thing now.

Sweet track! I'm debating adding some sort of water crossing to my track although it makes me a little nervous cuz electronics and H20 don't mix. My crawlers do terrible in the dirt, way too slow + narrow tires= stucky. Looks like fun. :-o
The devil made me do it the first time, the second time I done it on my own...
