If the batteries are getting hot, then you've got a dead short, and you've definately wired it wrong.Maxximum Attack wrote:Crazydave,
I think i did it wrong. I'll post a pic later. But my batteries are heating up VERY fast, and no lights are comming on. I used a 10k resistor, 0.5 watts.
help
Make sure the copper strip you cut is cut all the way through, and not just the green coating. I actually sawed about halfway into my PCB just to make sure I had broken contact, because the metal kinda stretches before it breaks..
If that's not it, look at this picture from the original tutorial on BitMod, his picture is a lot clearer that mine, maybe you can see how you've wired it wrong.

1.I cut the board were the red line is(how deep)
2.Add a piece of wire were the blue line is(from nub to nub)
3.Add resistor were purple line is(from nub to nub)
4.put back together and race

Just want to make sure this is corrrect before I start

Yep you got it. Just cut that strip as deep as you have to to make sure it's separated, but not so deep that you cut all the way through the board.
You know your simplified instructions are probably gonna be more helpful to people than mine.
I go rambling on, trying to cover everything so no one has ask to questions, and then it's more than people want to read, and everyone asks questions.
