RC18R

Post by SHAUN »

I got this in a trade, and it was well worth it. This may be one of the funnest RCs I have ever had.

RC18R
Castle 1/18 SideWinder ESC
Castle 6800Kv Brushless Motor
6 Cell Elite 1500mAh NiMH Battery
Losi Spektrum DSM RX

I added the RPM front bumper, and the body it came with was trashed so I painted up a NiteLine body for it.

I'm not going to go crazy on it or anything. Just some mild upgrades that will make it reliable, look good, and more fun to drive.

Plans are:

The Toyz Steel Ring & Pinion
MIP Super Diff Kit(front and rear)
MIP Shiny CVDs(front and rear)
Team Associated Titanium tie-rod/turn buckle set
Exotek Graphite Drive Shaft
Driven Productions Gear Cover
Driven Productions Delrin Drag Link
Exotek Carbon Front Shock Tower
Exotek Carbon Rear Shock Tower
3 Racing Carbon Battery Strap
1000+ post of BS.

That's mighty nice looking, Shaun! Great job on the body - I like the paint scheme on it :-o

Looks like fun, I know a lot of guys around here are using these for 1/18 dirt oval and they work well. I was thinking they'd make a nice base for a rally car on hard packed dirt.

Oh cool, so you just need an old Audi Quatro body and you're set. :-o

The only current manufacturer support in WRC is Ford and Citroen.

I wanted to get the arms, dog legs, short shocks and wheels and convert my extra ProPulse into a rally car. But I never got around to it.

I haven't really liked rally since they got rid of the B's. That was when it was fun...after that my interest tapered off to the point where I watch maybe an hour or two of footage a year. It's really kind of sad...they had the most outrageous cars in motorsports and they quit because of a few little fatalities. Where would sprint car racing be if they gave up because of a few dead drivers and fans? We are becoming a world of wimps. :-(
