XMods - Discontinued...

Post by PimpFloyd »

Dateline January 11th...

Radio Shack has removed all Xmods from their website. Rumors on the web at various XMod forums say they have been discontinued; at least one email to AtomicMods has confirmed this.

Flags at half staff throughout the nation, many mourn, Pres. Obama will address the issue tonight during Monday Night Football just to piss us off...

Could be some major blowout sales if there is any remaining inventory out there at your local "Shaft"...

Went to a local Radio Shaft at lunch - RS sales dude was not aware of discontinuation of XMods so...this may not be the case, or the RS sales dude is uninformed, who knows.

Sorry if I made everyone wet their pants :-)

it was the same way with the proppulse stuff when i went.. they happened to look in the back and there was a box with pro pulse on it, he price checked the stuff and was a buck for each of everything.. if their still sittin on shelves i doubt their any cheaper just yet.. gonna have to wait til their pulled.

if this is the case, i wonder what is gonna replace them on the shelf

So, is this the 2nd or 3rd time Xmods killed off?

I think they the missed the mark by not allowing the last generation to be modded with readily available parts like the old days...they took the MOD out of XMod!

Rumor has it the company (Carson - Germany) that makes these for them has stopped making them.

If they do make a come back they need to either upgrade the transmitter or come out with an optional for a "PRO" transmitter. I know everyone blames the RX in general and the lack of resolution but I think they would driver ALOT better with the OEM RX if they got rid of the wiper contacts on the steering in that TX design.

I'm babbling now... :-)

You don't like the driving the X-stock?

Huh, when most people say they want to blow up a toy, they don't usually mean using it as the detonator.

I don't know...call me chicken little I guess. Maybe they're just bringing out something new after all. If I ask the local RS sale people if XMods are being discontinued they look at me like my hairs on fire or something. I had two say they sell like hot cakes - none new they were removed from the website.
