Ferrari Set review

Part One

Yesterday i say goodbye to 300 polish zloty (80$). :-? I got red box in return. :)
Image

Inside the box are:

- red remote controller
- red wrist strip
- super Bit Char-G chassis with 2.2 motor
- 3 Ferrari bodies; Testarossa, 512BB and F40
- extra golden wheel set
Image

You dont fotrget to turn off your controller because there is ON led (instead of GO).
Image

Antenna is the same as in some clones.
Image

Channel selection, useless because there is no cars without controller on the market. :?
Image

Two mysterious black buttons are conncted to pcb. Hmmm... :???: Left one is connected to F2 and F2-, right one to the GND1 and VCC. Any ideas what it could be?

Image

New charging plate
Image

PCB with cutted edges, pcb cover with antenna loop.
Image

New chassis is more compact and made of different plastic with particles of metal (i think). Antimagnetic? Here with golden rims.
Image

Bottom view
Image

You can change front wheels fast and without screwdriver.
Image

New rear wheels are the size of old front wheels.

Tires are made of soft rubber similiar to Scala43 tires but a bit softer in my opinion.

Wrist strip. Well... :-?

Part Two - Bodies

Bodies are very detailed and well (but not perfect) painted.

Bodies sits on the chassis to high, especially Testarossa. New zipzaps style? They have to be lowered.

I didn't set white balance properly and ferrari red became a bit too orange.

Part Three - Performance

Frequncy - 40A
Motor - 2.2
Battery - 60 mAh

I performed some tests using F40 body:

1. Charginig

Charging time is 50s.
Self discharging is very low. You can drive a car after 10h.

2. Driving time

Test one - car upside down on the desk

- single charged, forward only - 4m40s
- single charged, forward and left - 3m40s*

- double charged, forward only - 10m46s
- double charged, forward and left - 6m55s*

- triple charged, forward only - 15m02s
- triple charged, forward and left - 8m41s*
*After this time there is not enough power for both motor and magnet.

Test two - driving on the carpet

- single charged - ~2m40s

After this time car is still driving but steering problems appear even at close ( ~50 cm) range.

Steering

Turning diameter on the carpet is 24 cm left and 20 cm right.
Turning on wooden floor is difficult because car slips on it, but when i made nice 180' turn, diameter was 16 cm.
Tires are quite sticky and get dust from the floor very fast and become skates. You can make rubber burning while trying to turn. :)

Speed

I tested speed on wooden floor (start from sheet of paper) and carpet. Distance was 2 m. In both cases time was 1.8 s. So speed is 1,11 m/s or 3,996 km/h. Scale speed is 256 km/h but should be 324 km/h with F40 body

Range

There is a "bug". :( After loosing a range car doesn't stop and continues its ride. :(
Fully charged (single) car range is 4,20 m

Pros:
- nice bodies and rims
- smaller wheels
- changing front wheels is fast and easy
- good driving time
- good range till it drops :)

Cons:
- BUG!
- price (in Poland)
- bodies sitting to high on the chassis
- lack of different tires
- mysterious buttons

SCORE 8/10

Sweet review Miva.... I didn't even know Microsizers put their name on it.

Thought it was just a Bit Char-G thing.

Thanks man

Thanks Miva, I hope Microsizers brings those into the US market soon. I also hope they ironed out some of the bugs I've read about with the Super Bits. Lookin' forward to part 2.

Excellent review. :-)
In Part 2 could you possible adress the "bug"? Allthough I think that the 40mhz cars may not have that issue. :???:

:( That sucks. I'm still wondering what them damn 2 buttons on top do. Maybe the glitch is related somehow to the 2 mystery buttons? :???:

I got both sets back in December along wit the Enzo.
Didn't know MicroSizer did the SuperSets. They aren't offering
them here !!!!!

I'd be interrested also in the "glitch" problem they have!

I have this issue with my Enzo, but only when using a higher rpm rotor.
I haven't even opened the Lambo & Ferrari sets yet, what the hell am I waiting for :???:

Nice review Miva, Welcome to Da Hood, glad you came aboard. You are now at Home

Miva, are you a designer? By the looks of your contest entry and this review, I'm guessing your profession has something to do with visual communication... it all looks great, man.
