Nah, I was just saying they are punchier. Sounds like a defective Torino to me.

Alright, now lets talk about wheels. I understand why RS went with the "hubcap" style wheels. It's so you can easily change the look of your wheels by just popping off the hubcab and popping on another.

But let's face it, it makes for a less than attractive wheel most of the time. I'd like to see RS come out with some wheel kits that are one piece like the bitchar-g wheels, but in various styles. Maybe with some brake calipers showing through, deep dish, wide rears, fat truck tires, tires with raised white lettering, etc.

Agreed Sdog....

They need to offer a package to folks that dont dig that "rim style". Id much prefer solid , flush BLING on my custom Escalade as opposed to some shit that looked like it came outta a vending machine at Luckys.

Hell...they have the agreement with the major manafactureers so why not make some more dough by offering the rims in a seperate pack with MOMO or whatever slapped on the front?

The first gen SEs were a major disapointment for me. I couldn't wait to get my sweaty beaters on them when they first came out. Major let down. Then, I buy a GTO because I like the old muscle cars. And, to my surprise, they were fixed. True, some still have a minor stutter every now and then, but it's very small and seems to be only a few cars. The steering fix, combined with the rear fatties and a late 60s-early 70's body have produced what I think is the perfect little micro (though a FET mod wouldn't hurt). Now, RS claims that a new, improved SE is on the way. We'll see. If they improve what is still lacking and keep the scale the same, I'm in big time. If they make them only slightly bigger, no more SEs for me. As I see it, SEs could use a couple of upgrades. More steps in the steering, more power and torque to the rear wheels, lower profile on the chassis, some deep dish rims, maybe rear suspension. Oh, and maybe a J or two instead of the controller in some specialty packs. I don't need another controller, but I seem to always be runnin out of smoke.

Where have you seen them claim they are coming out w/ new and improved Ses? I mean I can see why, w/ the whole disco of most of the SEs but where have you seen this actual claim?

It's been mentioned by a couple of members on different forums. I also had a conversation with a customer service rep at RS who mentioned new cars sometime in August. Nothing is known about them except they may cost more.

Cost more????

25 bones is already pushing it. Yeah, I know Microsizers, AKA Bit Char-g are only 5 or so bucks less. However, you can find deals on them because they are sold by a bunch of different distributors....not just one place like RS. Not to mention the fact that there are clones galore for the Bits.

I doubt the price will go up.

Nah, it ain't so bad considering what you get. Well, since they fixed em anyways. If there is a noticable improvement in performance and function, I'd pay more. I mean, some folks did pay 100.00 bucks for a Puchi. Some said maybe a 35-50.00 range. Still worth it if it serves the goods. But, this is all conjecture at this point.

i just got a s&h torino and it's much better than thefirst gen i had. one thing i noticed was the front wheel pins seem to enter from the inside rather than the outside. i'm worries that the wheels will wear out the knuckle as that's where the axle spins. seems strange to me

I'm not sure why they changed the way the pins go in the front wheels. I think this means the wheel and pin spin freely in the knuckle. Before, Originally, the wheel spun on a stationary pin. Maybe this is supposed to improve the hair and fuzz problem. But, I don't see how. Maybe it's to reduce wheel slop. Don't know, but they changed em and retooled for some reason.

About da 1st gen vs. 2nd gen ZZ SE's:

Is the Starsky and Hutch ZZ SE 1st or 2nd gen? I have the S&H as well as the Initial D yellow RX-7 and I noticed that the PCB is a little different between the two. Also, the controllers have two different Serial number stickers on the battery compartment covers. Does this mean the controllers are different, too?

Can I get da 411? Can I holla? Can I holla at ya? Holla, holla, holla!

Props to the bigguns,

I don't know. Personally I have the S&H SE and although everyone says it kicks ass, I really don't see that. Mine Sucks ass for all the reasons they always sucked. Stuttering and lack of power as well as run time all blow.

I still only have the first gen SE and I haven't had many problems with it. I still like my bits much more. And besides, soon she'll have a new home. I'm not quite ready to purchase another one. I do like the fact that you can add wider wheels on the rear. That's pretty cool...
