bloody hell!! i can't even remember what this thread was all about!!
he he, well i fergit who asked what but i mainly wanted the pb's for looks! but i find they are super grippy which i like. it flips a little with turns but if you think about the scale of things i'd like to see an f1 car turn that tight at that speed and stay upright! i'm using a booster pcb and that helps to control things much better. i took it for a run outside on the concrete and the lack of suspension prevents it from really staying on the ground but it was turning at full speed most of the time without flipping. after i fuck with the center of gravity it should handle much better. i'm thinking of moving the battery forward and cutting out some chassis so it sits lower, similar to hachi ryoku's mods http://community.webshots.com/album/135656737qEtQbh
i'm thinking foamies all round will help this baby out on concrete.
as for the front wheels, whoever suggested the wd40 tubing was right on the money! i like to widen the front wheels anyway and they rub if you don't put a spacer in. for the rear i just ground down some plastic from the inside of the left wheel so the tyre goes over the smooth part of the gear. still a ways to go as you can imagine but as it is this thing's a heap of trouble juz waitin'to happen!!

well for those who've forgotten about this one, this is what it was like back then

i've since rekindled this project for the brucemicro comp. as it was similar to my i waver skyline i decided to make a 1:64 replica. it's still running the pb rims and i've since added some short springs up front and replaced the pcb with a double stack fetted one.
it's slot lowered, hand detailed, i added some mesh on the grille and i managed to make a matching pcb cover to boot

Yeah your telling me Dave. I have a pair of Xmods that I always wanted to mod but relized after one run they would look like ass again.
Betty, holy crap! It seems like forever since you were modding 1/64th. Glad to see you comming back stong with multiple projects. I love the mesh grill you have there, and of course the color makes my eyes bleed, and that's ok w/ me

Hell dude....I drive my Xmod in a parking lot all the time. Its always flipping....but its never got banged to shit like that. Maybe I'm doing something wrongcrazydave wrote:Now you just need to take your bit for a couple laps on it's roof, and you'll have a perfect pair.
Really I can't tease you about that anymore, I tried to run in the parking lot of my new place, and after one run my car was looking like yours. It's really very easy to end up driving on your roof.

BOURBON TIME OUT!
