R-Spec Motor

Post by noxorc »

Just an FYI....

I recently received an R-Spec Motor from Tiny.

The torque is good. Enough to hop my bit on to the carpet and ride.
The speed is great. flips the bus though.

The diameter of the motor seems a little larger than the standard bit motor.

the diameter difference isn't causing any ill fitting problems is it?

Yup, the R-Spec has a slightly larger diameter...At the endbell itself (not the motor though).

Pretty small difference

- Tomy Motor Endbell: 6.1mm
- R-Spec Endbell: 6.4mm

But I guess it's enough that Nox noticed.

anyone else notice...

it seems when I hit a wall with my bit and it has an R-spec motor in it..

after hitting the wall (or something solid) it kinda stunds the motor...
it slowly crawls after the hit....and then after a sec...it builds it's power/speed back up. (like it's human).

Well I've had 2 r-specs and both exhibited the same quirks;

Running a single 150mah 1.2v bat and 9.86:1 gearing, I had to give it a nudge to get going (oh yeah always double charged too)

To compinsate for this little problem I would always run a 12:1 gear ratio

It's a power hog no doubt, I found , just before it's untimely demise, that the R-spec rocked in the Wild char-g. For more of an explanation see HERE (scroll up a little)

i wonder if this is the motor that could step up to my infamous "pink clone motor"

the characteristics you describe sound a lot like it.

I've smoked up all my R-spec motors... I had a burnt one, and decided to put a drop of oil on it, and it ran like hell for a day or two.. Then it just died again.. Crap.

I hear good things about the F-34s though..
