sub-micro ESC

Post by Murdoch »

I'm about to do an xmod conversion to use some hobby-grade electronics. I have most of the stuff picked out, but I'm looking for a sub-micro ESC that I can fit into TinyRC's CF chassis. And it needs to be reversible.

The LRP and the Novak ESC's are out because they are just too big.

So, anyone know of one? google has failed me.

Look into ESC's for heli's and planes. They get pretty damn small.

Or use an Iwaver board. :-o

Or a Whoa Nelly!!

Heli/plane ESC's are forward only, so no can do on that one.

Nelly's are dependant on an already existing board. All it does is provide more power to the motor.

You can use clint's suggestion of using a servo board. Get a nice small Rx and plug it into it. Very small and reversable. Actually scratch that, you'd probly blow it with an Xmod motor...

holy shit!

I found it, and it's on the CRP site. Looks like it's going to be the twister ESC.. if it ever comes back in stock.

The RX is going to be either the MBP-9G4or the MBP-3G4.. whichever works.

If you are referring to the twister 2.1, i'm not sure you want that. It's a forward only competition esc. It's cool as hell, but you'd be better off with a micro 10 amp airplane esc from gws or e-flight.

forward only? damn. I hope not. reverse is paramount.

EDIT: while looking around for more, I ran across this little beauty: stupid tiny ESC

Guess what.. after reading about the CRT on the mini-z racer board, I found out the twister DOES support reverse! sweeeeet.
