I thought I had posted these here.
Here is some pics for you Stampede lovers.

Widened using rear arms on front/rear shocks on front/Front wheels on rear.
Masher 2k's.
Titanium rods and hinge pins all around.
Stainless screws throughout.
Novak 8.5 brushless system.
Rpm front & carriers, and bumper.
Ib 4200 6 cell packs.
home made rear skid/wheely bar.
Shiny Cvd's.
Customized adjustable body mounts.
Led headlights.
Green led under body lights(bright stuff!)
Aluminum roof racks.
purple ghost flames on pearl grey(looks better in person)
and so on, and so on

How much fun is a pede stock? i'd be doing bashing mostly. I'm thinking of picking one up for christmas but cant find any really good opinions besides its nice.

Tons of fun. The Stampede was probably my most funnest RC ever.

When I got mine, I had to add the bearings, slipper, ESC, etc. so it wasn't stock, but it was technically, compared to what they sell now. My only complaint was the plastic motor mount. Gets hot here in AZ, and it would soften, allow the motor to slip, and I chew up spur gears left and right. I'd have to keep tightening the motor screws and the plastic would get all mashed until it was almost non existant. I was popping about 6-7 ft. airs when I was chewing the spurs, in its defense.

The new Stampedes, come with the bearings, ESC, and a 13 turn motor. So they're way faster than mine ever was. I don't really care for the look of the grey plastic though, but it does have a Revo slipper in it, so its pretty heavy duty. The old slippers kinda sucked, the pegs glazed over too quick.

My biggest regret in life is selling my Stampede, and I will buy another eventually.

Is that good enough for you, Tuner, or do I have to start gushing like a love sick school girl?

My friend has one, and it suffered the same problem. Motor gets hot, and shifts, chewing the spurs.

The new grey plastic fixed that problem. Not that pleasing to the eyes, but no more chewed spurs.

I do have a video compilation, short clips thrown togetherI'll try to finish it, I don't have an editor, so it'll be a short & plain vid.

Widening this sucker was the best upgrade. The fun factor skyrocketed ten-fold. I like the ride height, just didn't like having to put it right side up a lot. Adding the brushless to high COG would just make it do cartwheels a little farther.

Those pics were taken this past summer when our "clan" went to Daytona Beach. Now, the body ain't so pretty, and it looks a bit "used"

edit: oh yeah......... I took care of the motor screw issue by taking a large washer and drilled holes for the screws to go through, so they wouldn't sink into the plastic any longer.

See, that's cool, there was nothing for the Stampede when I had mine. I got it a year or two after the they came out, and everything was for the Blackfoot back then. Now they got everything for the Stampede.

I was no where near brushless speed, but I got sick of barrel rolling all the time, especially on black top. I just replaced the springs with Losi springs, Red in the front, and Pink in the back, and I'm not for sure but I think I was using something like 45wt oil in the front, and 55 in the the rear. I had to use a lot of preload spacers to get it back up to ride height, because the Losi springs are waaay softer, and the rear ones are shorter, but it hooked up the rear end real good like, helped 10x with the rolling, and handled very similarly to my XXT with the same set up. I noticed you still have what looks like the stock stiff springs, thought that might help you get it handling even better.

I don't race, so precise suspension set-ups aren't needed.
I just wanted to have careless fun, and low maintenance

BTW, notice that the constant wheelies+crashes had finally shortened my rear skid

Hmmm, I feel like you mistook my post. Let me see of I can reword it better...

Try some softer springs and it'll hook up like crazy.

I've seen a couple videos of brushless Stampedes, so I figured anything that'll help keep that thing on the ground is a good thing.

BTW, I forgot to say, excellent idea on that washer. I wish I thought of that years ago when I actually had a Stampede.

Before the summer-rebuild and new lid, I was running this shell......I wish I got pics of it new and un-scathed, but I really wish I hadn't messed up a good looking-but discontinued shell like I did.

First try with Xxx-main picture glue

, flame masking and airbrushing lexan. Not too bad

and my kids' 1/18th Nylints stock except paint........They love putting their little dolls and such in them and watching them fall out while they climp up stuff

Well, the newest and longest rebuild of my bashing Pede is coming toward the end.....

I have been patiently waiting to score a tranny, since I blew my diffs a while back. A long while back.

The one thing I do not care for is all the spur gears I have from the old slipper style will not fit this one. No matter. I always have the other Stampede that is in pieces that could use them. But, if I was to order the parts that needed replacing, it would have been more expensive anyway.

I've been accumilating upgrades and parts that are replacing worn pieces, since last Fall. Pics will be up when humpty dumpty is together again.

How did you seal the electronics? I'm assuming you ran it in damp conditions since it looks like mud on it in the one set of pictures... Maybe it's just sand?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the reassembled beast.
