They are still selling them at the ORIGINAL PRICE? :?

The sell bodies for the buggy and the truck for $29.99 but I think that does include a set the shock towers (body mounts). Now when are they really going to get real and sell CLEAR bodies. If they really want their 1/18 to take off it either has to be better priced than the competition. The TA RC18B/T $169.99 with 1100mah NiMh and 10 hour charger (Got a better/faster charger for $20.00)/Pro Pulse is with Battery and charger is $139.98.

Heck, I got the wife a Duratrax Vendetta for $169.99 (she liked the color) but you should upgrade the charger and battery immediately (600mah NiCD.)

600mAH NiCD? hehe, i got some 'AA' size batts from project del sol.. :)

heh, even got the holders for them..
if you're lookin for a cheaper alternative, and dont mind choppin / improvising your car, then i recommend looking for a solar lamp.. thats what mine came from, and you get the bonus of a solar panel, and the other bits that come with..

:???: Even if they dont work out, its still a cheaper alternative.. i got four lamps for £4.50.. i think thats something like $6.75 USD.. its worth it, either way.. i mean, look at how much you could save if it does work out?

heh, little bit of helpful [maybe] info for ya ;)

I'm just going to get a pack or two of 1400's. I'm planning on running it on the dirt at least once (season starts in a few weeks), she'll be playing with one of my Micro T indoors.

I'll just have to paint (or con Crazy Dave to paint it :-D ) one of the BRP bodies Purple, with pinkish flames, her description of a scheme she saw on a Soap Box Derby car on Sunday at the mall. She even has the pictures on her cell phone camera.

I haven't painted Lexan in a decade and I haven't done a flame job in nearly 13 years. I guess it's time to start drawing out the flames again.

Yeah I guess my store was trying to make floor space to lower the price to that level....but I feel they are still a good deal at $99....most of us already have chargers and even if we don't there are plenty of options that are cheaper than the rat shack priced batt and charger.

The RS optional parts are a bit steep but then again there are plenty of other options there as well....the only thing I have found that will NOT fit the PP is the RC18 shock towers... they will not bolt to the PP gear covers, you would have to change the covers as well to use RC 18 towers. RS does have the PP towers (uses the same front and rear) for $10 (includes two towers, body mounts, and hardware)
The RC18 arms will fit and the RC18 arms are much cheaper than the PP replacements.
RC18 and Mini-T rear wheels fit just fine so you're not stuck with the over priced RS parts there

One thing I did notice as I worked on the car is that the plastic is not plastic but a nice nylon, less brittle than toy grade plastic and much tougher.

My Pulse with Mini-T chrome disc wheels and Mini-Smasher tires....Truggy-licious

But how do they compare to the other 18th scale trucks on the market?

I'm convinced... I just need someone to convince my RS stores to put them on sale for $49. :-D

have you read anything I have written?
They are on par with the RC18T, but for a whole lot less
I didn't come in here and write a big long thread on junk

Someone just needs to tell my local Radio Shacks to put them on the shelves. 1 out of 3 of my surrounding shacks carry them. Just the one in the mall, and they are charging the full $159. Too bad too. If they were $99, and they carried some option parts there, I'd be all over that. But as it is, I thought I was better off getting the RC18.
...crazy man, crazy...dig it.
