Motor heat sink, or the motor plate with the heat sink?nazcom83 wrote:yeah the bb motor is kwl... it off other heating like... but I hope the a heatsink will sort that out when I gets one... lol...
Your's is getting hot from the stock 4-cell? (going by the picture)
My bb gets hot running 6-cells, and I got some crap at Ripper's for buying a heatsink motor plate. Made me question if it really did anything, and all I can say is the motor still gets hot, but so does the heatsink, and it cools quickly after I stop running. So its gotta help, but I still run the smallest pinion.

I got that HR motorplate/heatsink, and it gets hot enough to burn my finger, so yeah, it's doing its job for sure. I also have that atomic brass bushing motor (lame false naming), and it's not any better than stock. Hue35 and I have run ours at the same time with same batteries and pinions, and there is no real difference in speed or acceleration.crazydave wrote:Motor heat sink, or the motor plate with the heat sink?nazcom83 wrote:yeah the bb motor is kwl... it off other heating like... but I hope the a heatsink will sort that out when I gets one... lol...

Really? I could have swore I noted a slight difference. You ever oil the bushings? I use some oil intended for motor bushingsSuperFly wrote:I got that HR motorplate/heatsink, and it gets hot enough to burn my finger, so yeah, it's doing its job for sure. I guess by that point I was already playing with different batteries, so maybe these batteries help more than I thought. I got couple of these 180mah 7cells packs, and made 2 four cell packs and a six cell pack. Now I wish I just got 2 six cell packs.

Well, there may in fact be a slight difference. I'm just saying it wasn't a drastic or even that noticeable of a difference. Since it's only two dollars more than a stock motor, it's not that much of a dissapointment, but it wasn't all that impressive either. To be honest, though, I don't really care that much because my Micro-T goes plenty fast for the places and style I drive it, and it's nice to have an extra motor just in case.
Now, the lipo pack, that's a big difference. I find you really need some open space to use the lipo. I have two stock batts and one lipo, and I just drive in different places with the different battery packs.
It's not unlike how I drive my Mini-Zs. You can only drive them so fast on an RCP track, and when you get some stupid fast motor in a fetted car, it almost becomes uncontrollable, and you can actually turn faster lap times in a more stockish car where you can actually drive a racing line.

As for the Lipos, I want to get those for my mostly stock micro-t, but I like my 7.2 Ni-MH pack, because I think the extra weight keeps the car more planted. If the Lipos are as light or lighter than the stock cells... that must be hard to keep on the ground.
