i grew up about 2 blocks from the willys overland plant. i played at willys park when i was a kid. willys parkway and jeep parkway were streets i went down every day. the plant still exists. im not sure if they still make anything there since chrysler built a huge new plant a few years ago about 2 miles away. did i mention that i know half the people who make jeeps?

drunkards make jeeps

ps. when I was in college, I ran my '70 stang in a ditch.
asked a farmer to help me out... 5 minutes later, out of the barn,
came this mighty little CJ style jeep. He yelled to me...THIS IS MY WILLY.
That thing pulled my 2 ton car out like butter.

Here is the car. I just painted it glossy black.
Image

Image

Then I painted the back end purple. The rest of the pictures
never show the purple very well, so notice it now!

Image

I did the 'Elemer' Mod on the windows prior to painting.

Image

Then I painted the nose yellow and accented the grill and lights.
Followed that with the background white for the flames.

Image

Then as close to the white lines, I placed Red paint.

Image

All the way accross.

Image

Then I mixed up three colors to blend together.

Image

Blend complete.

Image

Now, this car is far from done.
But I felt I owe you an update on my progress.

What do you think?

for a homie pushin decals, I'm havin fun.

Is that a 34 ford? I believe the one in the picture with the gay guy is a 34 ford, or it is in Australia anyway, may be different in the US. Looks really good.

Honestly, in my personal opinion, I think it's just a generic old hot rod. Could be a '34 Ford, my uncle had a '33, or it could be a '34 Chevy, but it does kinda look like a Willy's. Either way it's still cool.

Nox, I forgot to compliment you on your flames. Looks nice the way you blended the colors.

The flames are great, possibly one of the greatest flame jobs I've seen, its so hard to do a job of such high quality on such a small scale, great job.
