I've been looking all over these boats for a good place to get in the boat.
You can tell the boats were molded in 2 pieces, a top and a bottom. The bottom includes the majority of the boat. It seems as if they heated the plastics and fused them together. There are no tell tale creases or cut lines from where the plastic would have met (telling us its probably been heated and fused).
The spots where the two plastic pieces have been joined are not going to be easily cut. I'm looking for alternative areas to cut and get in to the boat.
There are several things we have to think about here, mainly to do with putting the boat back together. Boyancy (sp?), just being slightly off will render the boat almost useless if not totally useless, this is proven by the lean in the boat I have now, the side it leans on turns fine, the opposite side doesn't. The boats already site very low in the water at the end of the boat. When cutting the boat and re-fusing it back together, if we take off just a little too much height, our boats going to fill with water and flip or sink. And what about fusing the boats back together? we need something that isn't heavy and that goes on evenly so we don't create a lean or have the boat sitting too low in the water.
I'm still searching - I will rip open one of these boats - though I honestly don't see a whole lot of good potential here.

I guess if anybody's gonna mod one for sale, they'd be the best for the job..Namuna wrote:Pssst, NKOK says there's no such thing as 2nd Generation boats...That means ToyEast is selling MODIFIED boats folks as 2nd Gen.
Whether that's good or bad, up to you, but know it's a Modded boat.

I just noticed a few differences in the image above and the boats I got:
- controller pads (white in pic - transparent red on mine)
- motor wells / props (red in pic - white on mine)
- charging stand clips (red in pic - black on mine)
- antenna on boat (red in pic - black on mine)
not that any of that means anything - just an observation

TE does some funky stuff. they did something odd to LXX, calling them type-R and type RS... they also put their own bodies on them, and have a new 40 mhz generation...
hell, they even put them in a new box, so im not suprised they go modding boats and selling them again.
imo, they gotta be better than the original boats

I'm am not saying the boat is not bad or anything ok.
Honestly I would say with NKOK boats. The other kind are imitation copies.
Plus NKOK gives you a 90day warranty. 3 months times we're talking about.
Yes NKOK boats are more expensive, so it's a get what you pay for type deal.
