Cabo's Daily Special - Track Car 2.0
You know, I'm actually starting to like some of these sport bodies, the colored transparency kinda sets off the right paint job.
The windows make me think of a ricer kiddie car.
oh yea, this is spray paint.
coat of white.
coat of metallic blue.
coat of dark metallic blue.
detail painting.
clear coated.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Truth be told, after a few other comments, I have contemplated selling some of the bodies to help pay for the site and stuff, but then I thought of the hassles and not to mention when I'm done with the body, I usually wanna stare at it for a few days and not give it up.
I'm a fool like that.

That's one is cool, probably one of your better ones. You really are starting to mass produce these things, I hope your getting some oxygen between paint fumes. Wouldn't want to pop that last brain cell, you know.
As far as selling them, I've had a couple people ask me to paint bodies for them, and I was willing to do it at cost. I figured with the cost of paints (I use laquer, it's a little more expensive, $5 a can, yeah I can paint dozens of cars with a can, but if they request a specific color, I have to spend my $5 to buy that color.), the body, and shipping it to them, $10-$15 is barely covering my cost, and I'm not even including the couple hours I put into it or my skill (I's gots skillz), but people thought that was too much and passed. I took personal offense to that, because I'm not going to take a loss on this.
So anyways, I'm kinda ranting, but my point being, it's a hard to set a price point on custom painted bodies, where you can offer a good deal, but still get paid fairly for your time. I think it was just kids bugging me, so there might some serious customers out there, but I just thought I'd warn you of my experience.
You could always put a couple on ebay, to get an idea of what people are willing to pay.
For me, rather than sell custom painted bodies, I'm thinking about putting my flames on decal sheets, and selling those for $3 a piece.

we're thinking right in the same line crazydave - that's exactly what I figured would happen to me too. probably not worth the troubles.
eh - whatever, if I get an offer I like, I'll take it, if not I won't.
but I don't think I'm going to go out of my way and start posting or advertising that I'll do this. I know I'll run into the same shiat you did. buying 5/can colors to be used once, more than likely 3 or more cans and then time and whatever... I'd probably only offer it to those who would really appreciate it.
