New Mini Cooper Just Arrived
Just got done playing with it for a bit...
First thoughts
- Well built, nicely detailed.
- Built-in lights are a nice feature
- Controller is not the greatest (typical knock-off style)
- Runs for quite some time - haven't timed it yet, but it seems to run a lot longer on a single charge than any bit I've owned.
- Way over-packaged.
- Antanae is not flexible. Gives it a nice solid feel out-of-the-box, but it's going to get crushed at some point. Difficult to fit with other bit bodies as a result.
- Tires are too small up front and too hard. Tread on tires makes it bounce around.
- Does not fit any of my bit rear axles!!! This is a major problem. Looks like bit wheels will fit without any mods, but I'll have to fit bit rims to the Mini axle.
- Body fit is tight - really tight. Will need to be modified to fit other bits.
Overall impression is good, especially for the price. I can't help but think how cheap these would have been without all the fancy-schmancy packaging. It handles well, stock motor is good (3.8?) and seems to be well-built.
That's what I know.

Dear Life Cereal, Where do you get off? Part of a balanced breakfast and delicious? Who do you think you are? By now you may have guessed I'm speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Life cereal do not change a thing.

Speed was good for an out-of-the-box bit. It has a 3.5 motor in it. I do like the variable speeds (65% on corners and 100% or 65% on straight-aways) - great control for those tights spaces or difficult courses. It's a bit slow for me, I'll be playing around with different motors this week (3.8, 4.0, 4.2). Haven't even touched the gears yet.
I do hate those tires. The detail is nice to have if it's just sitting on the shelf, but they are rock hard and the tread causes the car to bounce around a bit. Probably have to make some new ones by hand or go with the aluminum rims/tires.
Overall I think it's great - needs some little improvements here and there. You are basically buying it because it's a Mini. It doesn't work well with your other cars, but it's a cool thing to have.
