sounds like a great idea... I'll see what i have around and if i got time i'll do whatcha said... yeah, I have PLENTY of diecast that can be sacrificed...crazydave wrote:I tell you what I did with my targa topped Skyline, because the PCB was poking up in that one too.midget_man1387 wrote:as for the interior... it's really hard because of the internal dual cell... nothing fits and I don't have any credit cards.... BTW the extra kit was made of gameboy cases!
Just get a thin piece of plastic like the stuff you get from Microsizers, Zip Zaps, and the ZZ body kits. Paint that up, tape it inside the body. Then if you really want to top it off, go find a cheap die cast to snag some seat backs, steering wheel, rollcage, dash board, or whatever else you can find, and glue that stuff to the plastic.
If if the PCB is sticking up a little, it should be thin enough to flex. From what I can see in the pictures it shouldn't be a prob.
Oh and BTW I'm just trying to help out, it still looks really nice even without an interior.
the more i look at her, she really does need an interior

well, i took dave's advice and made an interior... came out better than I'd expected...I used severely thin plastic for the base and folded down roof.... i found a steering wheel and seat from a die cast... and I had a set of speakers for right behind the seat but i lost them! The NOS bottle, I had an old cell phone that I chopped up out of curiousity, and for lites, and I was just looking for something that resembled a NOS tank and lo and behold, there was this cylindrical thing that i juss grabbed with a pair of neddle nose pliers and ripped off! I also changed the tailights, because I thought that it looked dumb with black headlights and silver tailights... I was going for a Cabo look and I think I puuled it off pretty well!! well, here it is!

well, what do ya think? she needs new shoes, but i think that you guys are prolly sick of both these and my dubs... anyone wanna donate some pullbacks? lol

well, you've got options the way I see it.
first, how are you wanting to paint them?
like you know how it seems like there's a huge lens that encompasses the 2 dotted tail lights on each side? do you plan on painting that lens as part of the tail lights or as part of the body?
at any rate, I'd probably use 1 of these 2 options:
- liquid mask either the outside lens and leave the dotted holes open for paint, depending upon the color of the car (lights vs darks), or liquid mask inside the dotted holes and leave the lens open.
or
- paint the dots by hand with a brush after everything else has been painted
I used a variation of the 2nd option on my r34's

I used Elmer's glue to mask the taillights on my skyline and it worked great on a round light. The surface tension and visibility of regular Elmer's is better than liquid mask, IMO. Just get a dab on the end of a toothpick and gently work your way out from the middle till the glue "drop" covers the whole lens.

I might agree with the visibility, but that's it.
liquid mask was made for 1 purpose, this purpose.
I know the elmers probably works great, but I also know traditionally speaking, there's noway in the world it can be better than liquid mask.
most old school liquid mask users cover the entire area with liquid mask and then use the sharp x-acto blade to trim out perfect, non-jagged, non-bleeding lines.
that's just my opinion anyways.
to be honest, and I don't know for sure, but maybe elmers is good enough for the purposes it's being used for, sure seems like it'd be cheaper.
